"...It's good stuff... ["Far Gone EP"] by local singer-songwriter Alex Pfundt has the feel of the bonus tracks you'll find included on CD versions of Elvis Costello's debut, 'My Aim is True. '" -Aaron Jentzen, Pittsburgh City PaperFor Alex Pfundt (pronounced Funt), music has always been a necessity. Born and raised just outside of Philadelphia, Alex's relationship with music started at age 5, upon discovering a ukulele in his father's office. In grade school, he began studying classical clarinet and joined the school band. Then in his teens, when forced to audition for his high school choir, Alex discovered that despite hating choir, he could actually sing. At that point, Alex abandoned the clarinet, picked up guitar, and began writing songs. Alex then moved to central New York to attend Ithaca College. While majoring in English, he continued to write songs and perform publicly whenever the chance would arise, building a small, yet enthusiastic fan base. Now based in Pittsburgh, PA, Alex has released his debut studio effort Far Gone EP, an eclectic mix of crafty tunes produced by his college friend Zack Dinerstein and mastered by Grammy-nominated recording engineer Bob Acquaviva. The album showcases Alex's dynamic and eloquent songwriting. The title track 'Far Gone' and 'The Heavenly Hour' both offer sharp and witty commentaries on the perils of relationships, whereas 'Thrift Shop' and 'Polaroids and Tattoos' have a psychological depth heard in the works of songwriters twice his age. 'Don't Deny' is a stringent, but beautiful anthem against an indecisive lover. With clever lyrics and a unique style, Alex is well on his way to establishing himself as a refreshingly prolific artist. Alex Pfundt Far Gone EP Songs | 1. | Far Gone |

$13.05 Often, supergroups wind up dominated by one particular personality - think Eric Clapton in Derek & the Dominos, Jack White in the Raconteurs -- which makes the egalitarianism of Them Crooked Vultures all the more remarkable. Of course, when it comes down to it, it's a group of three natural-born collaborators: John Paul Jones, the old studio pro who gravitated toward provocative partners after Led Zeppelin's demise, teaming up with R.E.M. as easily as he did with avant-queen Diamanda Galas and nu-folkster Sara Watkins; Dave Grohl, who hopped into an empty drummer's chair whenever the opportunity ...

Far Gone EP songs
$15.65 With its titanic guitar solos, symphonic suites, and multi-layered melodies, Muse's fifth album operates under the assumption that bigger is better. This is the very definition of a super-sized album, an album that takes its cues from Queen, its lyrics from science fiction novels, and its delivery from rock opera. It's also the first time that Muse has truly sounded like Muse, as few bands since Queen have so readily explored the intersection of bombast and extravagance. THE RESISTANCE is most certainly ...
| | Mike Bloomfield Super Session CD (1968) Bonus Tracks; Remastered
Far Gone EP album
$6.75 A surprise best-seller when it was first released, this mostly improvised pairing of singer/keyboardist/producer Al Kooper with two major guitar heroes of the day sounds fascinating all these years later precisely because of the distance of time--nobody makes records like this any more. The material runs the gamut from folk pop (covers of Donovan and Dylan), to blues ("Albert's Shuffle," ...

$13.89 EXIT (The Cobourg Ontario, Canada Version)Yes...we know the name sounds familiar. Over the years there have been several bands using the name in the USA and one in Western Canada that we know of. No doubt the simple generic nature of this name has contributed to it's popularity, if not it's downright over use. Upon discovering this possible conflict we did, for a very short time, consider a name change. At the risk of sounding defensive, however, we have gone under this name since 1980 and have been recording under it since 1984 so we have decided that it's a little late now for an identity crisis. Suffice to say that we won't go away quietly. We therefore ask that you simply think of us as the 'Canadian version' - eh!Originally EXIT was a club circuit band playing mainly covers of everyone from The Stones and David Bowie, to Van Halen, Led Zeppelin and Judas Priest. In other words, in today's terms, a 'classic rock band' (although it was all new then!). The band consisted of Maurice Kelly ...

Far Gone EP CD music
$17.99 The idea and momentum for 'Cruising for Paradise,' Kevin Meisel's third record, (his second for the Brambus label), germinated while Meisel and guitarist Alex Anest were touring Switzerland in 2004. At that time, while touring behind Meisel's folk/country inspired recording 'Country Lines' (Brambus, 2003), the two musicians listened incessantly and repetitively to Beatle recordings, most notably 'Revolver', and 'The White Album.' Interspersed between those listenings were other familiar favorites by Dylan, Merle Haggard, Johnny Cash and Neil Young, all artists hugely influential on Meisel. During trips between the venues, the two engaged in spirited dialogues about those records and what made them so timeless and lasting. Inspired, Meisel, who is mostly known for his folk narrative songwriting style, began to include in his live sets various selections from an unrecorded cache of songs in his catalogue. Those tunes, written in a more pop style than is customary for Meisel, brought an unusual variance to the live shows and ...
