Since consolidating their line-up in 2003, Gold Coast five-piece LUMP have been making some heavy duty noise in hard rock circles and are now taking it to the rest of the world. With a bottom heavy rhythm section powering behind hook-laden guitar riffs, catchy vocal melodies and HUGE choruses, this is a band who is constantly writing and evolving and will gratify fans of Sevendust, Alice in Chains, Black Label Society, Tool and AC/DC alike with their original blend of new sounds and old-school rock sensibilities. With a line-up boasting ex-members of legendary acts Tower, The Poor, Black Seed & King Mungi, LUMP could well be Australia's next big things! $8.15 The Red Onions knew they were on to something when the singer Paul Gonzalez hurled himself into the drum kit at their first practice. Like a lot of great punk bands, the Red Onions have unlikely and humble origins; they met while working at a Gardena California K-Mart. While they have gone in various directions with their day jobs the remainder of their lives is now focused upon writing music and recording as The Red Onions. The songs on their new Fat Possum/Flapping Jet EP are tightly packed rock nuggets, with a proud low end and hair raising fuzz guitar solos. Recorded with John Reis(Hot Snakes, Drive like Jehu, Rocket From the Crypt), who knows a thing or two about Soul/Roots music, the EP is set to establish The Red Onions as the most vital band to emerge from Los Angeles' South Bay since Black Flag.Currently nominated for a 2004 LA Weekly music award for Best New Rock band this debut EP is sure to establish The Red Onions as one of the most explosive new bands in the country.Press:THE ...

Shoose Your Weapon music CDs
$13.15 The hard rock/heavy metal band ACERO (STEEL) started in early 1985 from the breakup of CICLOS D -a punk-turn-pop rock group that was primarily a cover band- and in its first stage the band was conformed by Jorge Molina (guitar/vocals), Francisco Pujol (bass/vocals) and Francisco Paz (drums).ACERO was the first band in Costa Rica to play heavy and speed metal music; however its original repertoire was scarce so the band also played covers from bands like Black Sabbath, AC/DC, Judas Priest and Iron Maiden among others. In this period the songs like “Libertad” (Liberty) and “Corre Libre” (Run Free) were composed. It was very hard for the band to get places to play and much less to obtain a recording contract as the genre was completely underground and the latin/pop orientation of A&R depts. in record companies and the radio made it impossible for the band to record or have any airplay at all. Nevertheless, the band kept playing live whenever and wherever it could to a small but growing legion of fans.By 1986, Francisco Paz decides to study his instrument further in USA so Marcelo Galli (ex-Ciclos D) is called to fill in the drumming chores. The band starts to project itself outside the capital and makes its first shows in provinces. At the end of 1987, Galli joins Café con Leche and its replacement is Johnny Soto. Coinciding with this, Molina steps down from lead vocals and Franklin Umaña becomes the new frontman for the band.In 1988, the band gets to record a demo at CBS Indica studios (today, Sony Music) Even though that work was never published, the 4 songs that comprise the demo (“Camino a la Oscuridad” [Route to Darkness], “Mueren de Hambre” [Die from Hunger], “Muerte al Inquisidor” [Death to the Inquisitor] and “Pasa la Raya” [Cross the Line] ), starts to circulate in the ...

After graduating, he returned to his hometown and toured the club circuit until he joined the infamous local DC group, \"Sinbad\". The group’s NYC manager convinced Alan to move to NY where he began composing with the late, great jazz organist, Larry Young. The Broadway composer Peter Link hired Alan as musical director for several rock-theatre productions and for years Alan continued to work with Peter on such shows as his Broadway musical \"King of Hearts\"(the album). During this time Peter and Alan worked closely together developing various artists including Gospel singer Jenny Burton, and singer/actor Mandy Patinkin.
