On 2008's BRING ME YOUR LOVE, his second solo studio album under the moniker City and Colour, Alexisonfire singer/guitarist Dallas Green once again steps away from his day job for a gentle, acoustic-oriented outing. Standout tracks on this laid-back set by the Canadian performer include the spare, delicate "Forgive Me" and the hushed, anxious "Constant Knot."

Personnel: Dallas Green (vocals, guitar, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, baritone guitar, banjo, harmonica, piano, percussion, bells); Daniel Romano (vocals, acoustic guitar, slide guitar, mandolin, violin, piano, organ, bass guitar, drums, percussion); David Romano (vocals, electric guitar); Dan Under, Dan Achen, Spencer Burton, Ian Romano, Gordon Downie (vocals).

Alternative Press (p.138) - 4.5 stars out of 5 -- "[I]t's smothered in optimism, with his glib vocals acting as your buoy in the sea of the world. An inspiring album." Kerrang (Magazine) (p.47) - "BRING ME YOUR LOVE pairs his familiar, achingly beautiful voice with much riper musical backing." City & Colour Bring Me Your Love Songs Bring Me Your Love Music Review Average Rating: (4.9 out of 5 stars) List All Reviews Amazing X 10 This guy is one talented dude. Cant stop listening to his Music Submitted by Mattburgessbc (Vancouver BC) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Could benefit of being over-hyped? I ignored the last City and Colour's
Sometimes due to Neverending White Lights Act 1: Goodbye Friends of the Heavenly Bodies sounding so similar in which could be overlapping each other. It sounds upbeat on Bring Me Your Love probably due to the Save Your Scissors backlash that Dallas Green does not want to be remembered best by. I would tend to agree on the same issue. I mean it's a nutshell when you're also a member of Alexisonfire and developed your fanbase over its years of existence. Then again, it's acoustic. Expect it unplugged and compared to Neverending White Lights. Dallas Green made a cameo and songwriting cred on "The Grace". I wouldn't say it's over-the-top in its value for that song, either.
There's still an undervalue that has to be met except Gordon Downie of Tragically Hip fame makes a cameo with the song, Sleeping Sickness. You gotta know how an acoustic guitar sounds when you hear one and how surreal it makes for perfect songwriting. Submitted by Hmmm-mmm (Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Best album iv heard in a while he out did his last one for sure, (dallas) its more folky and a little more upbeat and its not too mainstream, he didn't sell out, its so good, and the last one was incredible too, to give u some perspective, buy this album, you will no regret it Submitted by seafoodfromthesea (Kitchener, Ontario, Canada) Was This Review Helpful? YAY! Alexisonfire is awesome, but seeing Dallas Green on his own is fantastic. His lyrics are really touching, fitting perfectly with the music.
Go on, have a listen. Submitted by d.green.fan (Sydney Australia) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

Bring Me Your Love music CDs
$14.55 Yet another album by German guitar superstar Axel Rudi Pell, Mystica delivers...well, pretty much what every previous Axel Rudi Pell album has delivered. Pell is comfortable enough with his impressive chops that he doesn't have to do the whole God of the Fretboard routine that so many European metal guitarists are saddled with, so his albums are refreshingly light on the pyrotechnics. He does have a fondness for the pretentiously titled instrumental, however, so here listeners have "Haunted Castle Serenade (Opus #4 Grazioso e Aggresso)" and "The Mysterious Return (Intro)." Otherwise, this is utterly straightforward, by the book melodic hard rock in the '80s poodle-hair style, complete with former Hardline singer Johnny Gioeli's pleasant but utterly anonymous vocals. If you still treasure your Scorpions and Rainbow albums, Mystica is sure to please, but those whose taste in metal has progressed beyond 1987 might find this unapologetically old-school stuff too retro for their tastes. ...

| | Eugene Kelly Man Alive CD (2005) (Import) Japan
Bring Me Your Love album
$39.39 Man Alive, Eugene Kelly's first solo album since the demise of his group Eugenius, is a charming, low-key effort full of his trademark wit, humor, and songcraft. The bulk of the album is made up of chiming guitar pop tunes with sweet vocal harmonies that wouldn't sound out of place on a Teenage Fanclub record -- just add Kelly's laconic vocals and world view. Indeed Kelly has learned much about the jangle from his fellow Scots. There is none of the grungy heaviness that often turned Eugenius songs into muddy filler. Now Kelly's songs are either light and tender ("I'll Be Yours," "Older, Faster") or rich and expansive ("Noise and Smoky Breath," "The Healing Power of Firewalking"). Either way they are refreshing and quite lovely. Equally as nice are the songs with a folky, acoustic feel like "Sinking Ship," "She Wears My Rings," and "Dear John" that betray a newfound maturity and the rocked-out tunes like "Ride the Dream Comet," "You're Having My Sex," and the cute, should-be-a-hit "I'm Done with Drugs." Taken together you have a fully rounded-out album that ought to make fans of Kelly -- and of intelligent and fun guitar rock -- glad the man has dragged himself back out on the tiles. ~ Tim Sendra
