Nil Recurring album Product Description
Long-running progressive rock act Porcupine Tree, fresh off of their critically-acclaimed FEAR OF A BLANK PLANET, continue their grand experiment on the hallucinogenic and at times fearsomely heavy NIL RECURRING. A 29-minute, four-track mini-album, NIL RECURRING features the immediately recognizable talents of King Crimson legend Robert Fripp on the title track--a twisting, hypnotic perpetual motion machine with sinuous rhythms and stainless steel guitars that would do Helmet proud. Elsewhere, the Eastern-tinged second track, "Normal," mixes wonder and delicacy with more guitar heroics. NIL RECURRING is a prime display of prog's simultaneous elasticity and rigid discipline. Porcupine Tree: Steven Wilson (vocals, guitar, keyboards); Gavin Harrison (guitar, drums, percussion); Richard Barbieri (keyboards, synthesizer); Colin Edwin (electric bass). Additional personnel: Robert Fripp (guitar); Ben Coleman (violin).

| thunt_ This is mainly out-takes and used jams from "Fear Of A Blank Planet", their release from last year '07. It is a good listen for an avid PT fan. But, if you've never heard of these guys, get your first impression from "Lightbulb Sun" "In Absentia" or "Deadwing". By thunt_ (Worcester, Ma. USA) |
| Great, for fans only.. A huge PT fan, but you better off finding the Fear of A Blank Planet (DVD Audio version) which has that cd plus all songs included here in 5.1 Dolby Digital. These are great tracks and really should have been included on the original release.. By mako9437 (NJ, USA) |
