| | Allman Brothers Band An Evening With The Allman Brothers-1st Set CD Allman Brothers Band Discography of CDs
(1 Customer Review)
Recorded live at the Macon City Auditorium, Macon, Georgia on December 28-30, 1991; The Orpheum Theatre, Boston, Massachusetts on March 3-4, 1992; The Beacon Theatre, New York on March 10-11, 1992.
This early '90s concert album isn't as epochal as 1971's LIVE AT THE FILLMORE EAST (what could be?), but it's an excellent set in its own right. At the very least, it demonstrates why the reconstituted Allman Brothers became such an in-demand live attraction in the '90s, picking up much of the living-for-the-jam crowd that formerly gravitated to the Grateful Dead in the process.
High points here include an acoustic interlude in the middle of the show, with particularly lovely unplugged versions of Blind Willie McTell's "Midnight Blues" and Greg Allman's "Melissa." The electric material also percolates most satisfyingly, in particular "Southbound," which gives everybody in the band, including harmonica player Thom Doucette, an opportunity to strut their best stuff.
Also available as a 3-pack with 2ND SET and SEVEN TURNS.

$9.85 The FuMP Volume 15 by Artists of The FuMP Featuring all the songs released in May and June of 2009 The FuMP Volume 15 shows off the best of what The FuMP has to offer! The FuMP quite simply is The Funny Music Project. We just thought The FuMP had a nice ring to it. Like the ringing a boxer hears after he's been hit in the head one too many times. The FuMP is a collaborative effort made up of a core group of comedy musicians. These are Possible Oscar, Raymond and Scum, Rob Balder, Devo Spice, the great Luke Ski, Tom Smith, Worm Quartet and Robert Lund. These artists have committed to releasing new or unlreleased recordings of their music to the public under a Creative Commons license. This means we promise not to be upset when a video of you lip synching to our song in your underwear appears on YouTube. In addition to the core members there are several additional auxiliary members who will ...
