(1 Customer Review)
Coming off of his biggest commercial success in years, 1989's TRASH, Alice Cooper decided to follow the same accessible, radio-ready formula for its follow-up, 1991's HEY STOOPID. Producer Peter Collins smoothed out the edges of Alice's music for mass consumption. Like its predecessor, HEY STOOPID features many guest appearances from some of the day's top rockers--Guns N' Roses' Slash; six-string wizards Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, and Vinnie Moore; Motley Crue's Mick Mars and Nikki Sixx; and the legendary Ozzy Osbourne all lend a hand. The album's opening title track was a rocker containing lyrics that dealt with the dangers of hard drug use, and was a popular video on MTV's Saturday night heavy metal show, HEADBANGER'S BALL. Other highlights include "Love's a Loaded Gun," "Burning Our Bed," "Feed My Frankenstein," and "Die For You."
Recorded at Bearsville Studios, Bearsville, New York and The Complex, Los Angeles, California.
Personnel includes: Alice Cooper, Slash, Ozzy Osbourne, Vinnie Moore, Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, Nikki Sixx, Mick Mars.

Hey Stoopid album
$4.49 From 1983-1985, little was heard from shock rock legend Alice Cooper. After a string of commercially unsuccessful albums and his battle with alcoholism, Cooper bowed out of the spotlight to put his personal life back on track. Slowly, Cooper re-emerged and decided to return to the kind of music that made him a household name in the first place--heavy metal. Cooper assembled a new band, which included a larger-than-life bodybuilder on guitar, Kane Roberts, and bassist Kip Winger (who would later front the late-'80s pop metal band Winger).
CONSTRICTOR proved to be Cooper's first hard rock album in a long time. The best known song, "He's Back (The Man Behind the Mask)," was a ...

Hey Stoopid CD music
$12.85 In spite of straying so far from its black metal roots as to almost seem a completely different band at times, Dimmu Borgir still packs a powerful punch on Puritanical Euphoric Misanthropia. New guitarist Galder (formerly of Old Man's Child) nicely infuses more traditional metallic mannerisms, but the addition of drummer Nicholas Barker (Cradle of Filth and Lock Up) is critical. His always-punishing percussive prowess allows the seamless melding of speedy black metal with considerably more orchestration, this time around provided by the Gothenburg Opera Orchestra itself, creating a cacophony of nefarious melodies atop gothic gloom. "Puritania" is indicative of something the band probably would never have tried even a few years ago, a stirring descant with a myriad of vocal styles seemingly coming from all directions. A minority of purists might see this as too much of a departure, a complaint that ...

Hey Stoopid music CDs
$11.59 The resurgence of garage rock inspired veteran shock-rocker Alice Cooper to embark on a long-overdue return to the meat-and-potatoes sound he helped pioneer in the 1970s. With the help of producer Mudrock (Powerman 5000, Godsmack) and a crack band, Cooper succeeds beyond expectations with THE EYES OF ALICE COOPER.
Stripped of the '80s metal armor that went on to burden much of his work in the '90s, Alice has found ideal collaborators in guitarists Ryan Roxie and Eric Dover (the latter known for the '60s and '70s rock sound of his work with Imperial Drag and Jellyfish). Lyrically, Cooper has his tongue planted firmly in cheek. From tales of trailer trash ("What Do You Want From Me?"), morbid sarcasm ("Man of ...

Hey Stoopid album
$5.95 While Alice Cooper's late-'80s comeback was a success largely on the strength of his ever-popular stage show, his albums of the era, 1986's CONSTRICTOR and 1987's RAISE YOUR FIST AND YELL, failed to reap mass commercial success. All of this changed with 1989's TRASH, his first platinum-certified album in nearly 15 years. The album's top-10 single "Poison" made fans of '80s glam-metal fully embrace Cooper, a man who had almost single-handedly created the genre.
As he did on his past couple of releases, Alice worked with one of the day's top producers, Desmond Child, who was known primarily for his songwriting talents (including hits for Aerosmith, Kiss, Cher, and others). Also, TRASH included several guest appearances from some of rock's top names--Jon Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora of Bon Jovi play on "Hell Is Living Without You," while four of Aerosmith's five members appear at various points throughout. Other album highlights include "Bed of Nails," ...
| | Alice Cooper The Last Temptation CD (1994)
Hey Stoopid CD music
$5.95 This limited edition release of THE LAST TEMPTATION is specially packaged with a full-size, 36 page, full-color Marvel comic book. The comic was conceived in part by Neil Gaiman, best known for his Sandman comic book series.
THE LAST TEMPTATION is based on a three-part comic book series, created by Neil Gaiman, author of the comic "Sandman."
In 1994, coming off the commercial disappointment of HEY STOOPID, Alice Cooper decided to switch gears and composed his first concept album since the '70s, THE LAST TEMPTATION. Cooper worked with a trio of producers--Andy Wallace (Slayer), Don Fleming (Hole), and Duane Baron (Ozzy Osbourne)--to create an interesting sonic balance. A number of renowned rock artists again lend their songwriting talents to this collection. However, only Chris Cornell actually plays on the album, unlike the all-star cast of musicians who appeared on Cooper's last release.
While the album wasn't a major hit in the United States, it was Alice's third top-10 release in England and easily his best and most satisfying work in years. The pair of songs that Cornell co-wrote with Cooper, "Stolen Prayer" and "Unholy War," are the album's best; it's a headbanger's dream come true to hear these two exceptional singers share the mic. Other highlights include the opening ...
| | Need New Body CD (2001)
Hey Stoopid music CDs
$12.05 Need New Body's self-titled debut is a sprawling, genre-defying behemoth of an album. Spread over 22 tracks, it's a postmodern musical masterpiece that succeeds where other like-minded experiments have failed. Instead of combining musical styles in the forced and ultra-serious way characteristic of many so-called post-rock bands, Need New Body operate with a sense of playfulness and surrealistic humor, splicing musical genes and creating something like a one-disc condensation of the entire Frank Zappa discography -- but with a much more spontaneous and off-the-cuff feel that belies the band members' indie rock roots. Core members of Need New Body were previously in the Philadelphia-based psychedelic band Bent Leg Fatima (which disbanded in early 2000), and as might be expected, many elements of Fatima carry over to Need New Body, such a focus on drone and an overall Eastern flavor. Chicago's Bablicon also leave a heavy imprint on the music: Besides playing on many of the tracks, both together and as individuals, Blue Hawaii from Bablicon engineered the studio sessions. Members of the Lilys, Ink and Dagger, and Aspera Ad Astra also make appearances, adding ...
