Originally released between 1987 and 1989 as two separate vinyl EPs, Suicidal Tendencies' Controlled By Hatred and Feel Like Shit...Déjà-Vu were eventually combined into one convenient, almost full-length compact disc. Besides offering two versions of the title track to the band's outstanding 1988 Epic debut, How Will I Laugh Tomorrow (one is the video edit, the other an emotional acoustic version), previously unreleased tracks like "Waking the Dead," "It's not Easy," and "Controlled By Hatred" showcase Mike Muir's gang of social deviants at their best. ST fanatics will no doubt get a kick out of these rarities, which also provide a nice link between the aforementioned album and 1990's stellar follow-up, Lights...Camera...Revolution!. ~ Eduardo Rivadavia
Suicidal Tendencies: Mike Muir (vocals); Mike Clark, Rocky George (guitar); Stymee (bass); R.J. Herrera (drums).
Producers: Suicidal Tendencies, Paul Winger.

Controlled By Hatred/Feel Like Shit...Deja Vu songs
$11.39 Booker's Bridge is a Contemporary Christian music husband-wife duo from Columbia City, Indiana. As songwriters and artists, Scott and Christy Booker use thought provoking verses charged with strong choruses to lead the listener through an emotionally moving and memorable musical journey. Christy's smooth inspirational voice and style combined with Scott's pop/rock guitar rhythms make for a pleasingly unique sound that reaches out to captivate many generations. Booker's Bridge has just completed their first CD, "The Simple Truth", and is currently booking dates to promote it. Scott and Christy enjoy not only the lively atmosphere of full band concerts and theatrical musical events, but the more intimate duo settings of a youth-side campfire or evening coffee house. They have experience in leading adult praise and worship in their own home church, as well as helping other churches learn how to start a praise and worship team of their own.Scott, both a "military brat" and world traveler, has enjoyed the influences of many places and cultures. He started songwriting at age thirteen. When in college he became one of the founders of the Contemporary Christian rock band, Galilee, based in Montgomery, Alabama. As guitarist and songwriter for Galilee, he brought his rock style into the band's song catalog. Holding a degree in Psychology, Scott has worked with youth groups and individuals and has gained great insight and compassion for people and their needs. This compassion flows throughout his songs for Booker's Bridge and straight into your heart. Christy, a singer since forever, ...

| | October Project CD (1993)
Controlled By Hatred/Feel Like Shit...Deja Vu music CDs
$5.95 During their three years with Sony Music, October Project released two recordings of gothic MOR before being dropped by the label and disbanding. This self-titled debut is just slightly rawer than its successor, but fans of October Project's dark, melodic attempts at poetic rock will definitely approve of the 1993 release's lush collection of mid-tempo goth pop. Sounding like Stevie Nicks and Peter Steel's lovechild, singer Mary Fahl powers the band with her deep, haunting voice, and fast vibrato. Fahl is a completely unique artist, sounding like no other vocalist of her era. Fans of female contemporaries (especially Fiona Apple) might want to check out October Project just to hear Fahl's smoky vocal approach. In what was a rather strange band lineup, Fahl sang lyrics written by non-musician (and wife October Project keyboardist/songwriter Emil Adler) Julie Flanders. It isn't that unusual for a band to look outside its own ranks for material, but rarely will a songwriter (or especially a lyricist) receive equal billing as the musicians -- especially without significant prior credits and with fairly modest abilities. Flanders' ...
