Heartlight album Product Description
Heartlight album by Neil Diamond was released Apr 01, 2008 on the Columbia label. Although Diamond has continued to sell healthy quantities of his albums and to fill arenas for his concerts, Heartlight and its title song, which was a Top Ten hit, were his last record releases as what might be called "a front'line artist," one who makes contemporary music for a contemporary audience and sells a million copies on release. Heartlight songs It's a typical album for Diamond at this point, full of romantic sentiments rendered in highly produced settings and employing the cream of L.A. studio musicians, but lacking the excitement of his early work and the ambition of his middle period. Heartlight album ~ William Ruhlmann Personnel: Neil Diamond (vocals); Dean Parks, Lee Ritenour, Doug Rhone (guitar); David Boruff (alto saxophone); David Foster, Burt Bacharach, Michael Omartian (piano); Neil Steubenhaus (bass); Jim Keltner, Alex Acuna (drums); Paulinho Da Costa, King Errisson, Victor Feldman (percussion); Julia Tillman Waters, Maxine Willard Waters (background vocals). | Sometimes They Camee Back And It's Like the First Time. I did't know this digital version of Neil Diamond's "Hearthlight"did exist until I found it listed on CDUniverse Catalog; simply, I did go on and on looking for it for years, for I wouldn'have accepted it didn't exist. Again, a CD or a vynil(CDs can sound well as Lps did on good CD players) makes the difference, when a record is concerned. Since I never had the opportunity to be present at a Diamond concert, and never saw this title of him considered by the European Discographic Industry in recent years, and since I have no more the opportunity to listen to "Earthlight"on my old turntable, I purchased this CD but I did not do this out of nostalgy: the promises made by the music and the texts of its songs are always actual. I could have buyed a quarter-of-a-century old copy of this album but I did not and will not buy it. One last thing about this recording: in 1983 the distribution made some journalist write that Neil Diamond had dedicated the album and some songs of it to E.T.Guess why I buyed it, then, however known to me Neil Diamond was? | The title track...... is the reason why I bought this CD and I was pleasantly surprised - usually there a few album tracks that are not very good, but I must say I actually enjoyed a number of tracks as much as the title track - good effort. | Add another diamond to your collection! I am truly surprised that this album has not been reviewed as much as others. All the songs are quite good. This album certainly should find place in your Diamond collection. By adityakumardsv (Hyderabad, India) This review is for a different format. |
