The flutist continues his travels, arriving in Egypt to record in the Great Pyramid of Giza. The double-CD set features a powerful introspective suite of 40 spontaneously composed "psalms" created by Horn on piccolo, alto, and C flutes. ~ Linda Kohanov
The availablity of this CD, years after it's initial release, is very meaningful to me. Recording inside the Great Pyramid was one of the great experiences of my life. It's effects are still with me and when I listen to this recording, I am back there again, reliving the experience. When you listen, just relax and open yourself to the sounds without any judgements or preconceptions and let the music flow within you. Then you will be there with me inside the Great Pyramid.Paul Horn Inside The Great Pyramid Music Paul Horn Inside The Great Pyramid Songs | 1. | Initiation Psalms 1-7 |

| | Tim Mungenast Un-Stableboy CD (2002)
Inside The Great Pyramid songs
$11.39 The Un-Stableboy is psychedelic in the old-school, early Pink Floyd sense of the word; marked by an all-pervasive weirdness more than studio effects or other exotic trappings. Tim Mungenast is an excellent guitar player whose songwriting has a uniquely warped and surreal bent to it. His is a world where dead trees walk around, (possibly) imaginary alligators empathize with him, humans are infiltrated by "Invaders From Below" and people turn into radio waves. All while "Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun" is probably in heavy rotation. The songs are strange and fun, and great guitar solos abound: particularly on "Invaders From Below," "Dead Tree Stroll" and the dueling leads of Mungenast and Mac Randall on "Lithium Statement." There are also a couple short spoken pieces, including a poignant but celebratory toast to his deceased father. Mungenast seems perfectly content to follow his muse (who just might be his late friend Crystal the Greyhound) wherever it takes him, and The Un-Stableboy is another weird and wonderful (if a bit short) offering from a truly individual voice. ~ Sean Westergaard
When he's not dishing out his beloved neo-psychedelic rock, Tim enjoys being part of Boston's avant garde community. He has teamed with luminaries such as Ken Field, Lauri des Marais, Kris Thompson, (Lothars, Abunai!, Nisi Period), Michael Knoblach (Cul de Sac, Twitcher), Chris Mascara, Urban Ambience, Ross Hamlin, Plasticrazorprotector/2KJB, and Sympathetic Dissonance, in addition to his solo soundscapes.WHAT PEOPLE SAY ABOUT TIM MUNGENAST"For Tim Mungenast, guitar notes are the brushstrokes that create a dizzying surrealist world where ideas travel on bats' wings at supersonic speed and everyone hums ragas as they catch the bus to work. He matches a sharp, Monty Python-esque wit with an uncommonly wide and intelligent guitar palette." Ted Drozdowski, The Boston Phoenix"Tim Mungenast is an excellent guitar player whose songwriting has a uniquely warped and surreal bent to it." All Music Guide/www.allmusic.com"Tim works at a very high level of invention and creativity." Phil Jackson, Zeitgeist--Reflections of the Underground (Scotland)"Mungenast is a guitar shaman of the most enlightened order, capable of pulling off devastating nasty leads and Belew-esque chordal shimmering, and all nuances in between." Brian Westbye, Face Mag (US)"Mungenast could be a name to watch out for." Peter Jolly, Feedback Magazine (UK)"Mungenast has a knack ...

| | Roy Roberts It's Only You CD (2008)
Inside The Great Pyramid music CDs
$12.39 Roy Roberts is the bridge between Memphis Soul and Contemporary Blues. He exemplifies this music form, a healthy amalgam of Memphis Soul & Modern Electric Blues replete with real horns and stinging guitar licks. In today's market he's a hero to me being that today's "Southern Soul" is mostly machined-programmed and heavy on double entendre while Contemporary Blues is dominated by Blues/Rock bluster. But Roy is 100% organic Soul Blues. He's released 11 terrific records thus far, including one live, one "Best Of" and a Gospel outing. And this doesn't even take into account his fantastic production and songwriting work on albums by Chick Willis, Floyd Miles, Johnny Rawls & more. How does he do it? "It's Only You" is another set of fat-bottomed Albert King-at-Stax grooves and melodic-Hi Records-horn-kissed bliss. Whether it's headbobbing, toe-tapping Soul rollers like "Cheerwine" (an homage to the wildly popular soft drink), "Looking Bad Situation" and "It's Only You" to the meaty mid tempo Blues pounders "Got To Watch My Step" and "Singing Another Blues Song" to B.B. King-like shuffles ("Going Out Tonight") Roberts manages to reach everybody. The blues purist, the old school soul devotees and even the Carolina Beach Music crowd (yes, you can "shag" like crazy to this album!). All need a copy of this disc in their collection.Blues singer, guitarist, song writer, producer and label mogul Roy Roberts was born Oct. 22, 1942 in Livingston, TN. He first learned piano and gospel music with his mother but ...
