| | Jacques Brel Is Alive And Well And Living In Paris DVD (1975)
Live DVD
$24.89 This experimental musical revue combines the songwriting talents of the renowned Belgian-born Jacques Brel with the distinct stylistic sense of 1970s film. Brel's songs deal, movingly so, with topics as vast as love, death, and war. Bringing them to life seems a challenge, but one met by director Denis Heroux. Using tools as unexpected as puppets and extensive location shooting, Heroux places Brel's songs in a unique context -- one that frees them from theatrical constraints. Mort Shuman (who wrote songs for The Drifters and Elvis Presley) converts the songs into beautiful English-language versions, but does not lose the essence intended by Brel. In an age where the classic troubadour seems to have vanished, JACQUES BREL IS ALIVE AND WELL AND LIVING IN PARIS reminds one of the need for singers to translate universal emotion into song.

$16.80 | | Legend To Legend: Conversations With Bob Wolff DVD (2005)
Live film
$7.35 Although his nearly six-decade career spans the worlds of football, basketball, hockey, and boxing, legendary sports broadcaster Bob Wolff is most associated with the golden age of baseball for his years of announcing for the Washington Senators in the 1950s. During that time, Wolf was able to interview many of the era's greatest players in a trademark style that adopted the warm and humorous air of a conversation between friends (which it often was). LEGEND TO LEGEND: CONVERSATIONS WITH BOB WOLF presents a selection of Wolf's vintage interviews with such immortal greats as Ted Williams, Mickey Mantle, Whitey Ford, Yogi Berra, Casey Stengel, and many others for a nostalgic and rarely seen slice of baseball and broadcasting history.

$40.95 When intelligence agencies need to dispense with one of their spies they serve a burn notice. A burn notice informs other agencies that the spy has become unreliable, effectively ending his or her career. In the breezy yet adventurous tradition of MAGNUM P.I., the USA Network's BURN NOTICE follows Michael Westen (Jeffrey Donovan), whose intelligence career comes to an abrupt halt after a botched job in Nigeria. Westen returns home to Miami, Florida, only to discover that he has been cut off from all his contacts in the agency and his bank account has been frozen. Without a penny to his name, Westen decides to work as an unlicensed private investigator, using the money he makes to launch his own investigation into his fate with the intelligence agency. Gabrielle Anwar (THE TUDORS), Sharon Gless (CAGNEY & LACEY), and Bruce Campbell (EVIL DEAD) co-star in the continuing adventures of Westen. Included here are all 16 episodes of the series' second season.
