| | Greg Cagle Red Herring CD Greg Cagle Discography of CDs
Greg Cagle’s song writing and performance style reflects a mixture of influences from the Carolina beach and top 40 hits he’s performed since his days of youth to the R&B/jazz classics which have become a major part of his current performance repertoire. Greg has been singing, and playing music in and around the Carolinas for 40 years in such bands as The Riverias, Sugar Creek and Times Square. In 1997, Greg wrote and released his first CD, “Out Of This World” and under the stage name of “Ty Gregory”, sold and performed his CD primarily in the greater Charlotte region. Greg’s second CD, “Red Herring”, was written and recorded as a home studio project and released in 2002. A video of one of the cuts from this CD, “Walkin”, was made in Dublin, Ireland by film maker, Denis Pringle. Both “Out Of This World” and “Red Herring” are now available on iTunes. Greg is currently performing with the bands “InThePocket” and “Trio de Janeiro” as well as his regular solo gigs. He continues to work on a wide range of original musical material. In 2007, Greg co-wrote and sang the song, “Take A Chance”, with Rick Lee (Too Much Sylvia) and David Bowles. The song can be heard on several Carolina beach music stations including 94.9, “The Surf”. Greg’s 3rd CD, which is being written and produced in association with long-time musician friend and Muzak associate, Rick Nash (the Entertainers), is expected to be ready for release by the fall of 2008 Red Herring Music | List Price | $19.97 (You save $3.58) | | Category | Blues Albums | | Label | CD Baby | | CD Universe Part number | 7614433 | | Catalog number | 165991 | | Discs | 1 | | Release Date | Jan 08, 2008 |

A LOVE SUPREME is the essential example of the genius of John Coltrane. In what has become the apotheosis of jazz music, this eminently accessible work bridges the gap between music and spirituality, between art and life. With the ultimate incarnation of the jazz quartet, Coltrane brings together all of his turbulent elements into a cohesive paean to spirituality, one which is fully appreciable by the uninitiated.

$14.15 Born in Odessa, Ukraine, Lenny started studying classical piano at the age of six. Like most kids, Lenny hated daily practicing, especially when he could hear his friends play ball outside. Sometimes, after school, Lenny would mess up the piano strings’ dampers so that the piano would ring nonstop and be impossible to play. When Lenny’s dad came home and fixed everything back and then asked Lenny what happened, Lenny would deny any knowledge, of course. During seven years of classical music education in the then Soviet Union, studying music of such great composers like Bach, Chopin, Tchaikovsky, Lenny also loved to listen to legends of rock - Beatles, Queen, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, etc. His music favorites also included Ennio Morriconi, Henri Mancini, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Paul Marya and Space, among many others. Listening to these greats developed in Lenny a love and understanding of the importance of a melody in a tune.In 1979, Lenny immigrated with his family to the U.S., settling in New York where he started learning about jazz. While performing in various clubs in NY, Lenny took private lessons from a seasoned jazz studio musician, John Weiss, who also happened to have a Russian classical piano background. One of the best lessons in jazz for a price of a ticket that Lenny remembers getting was watching Oscar Peterson perform with his band at the Blue Note. Sitting 6 feet away from Peterson, gave Lenny an exceptional view of the master’s hands at work. In addition to Peterson, Lenny’s favorite jazz artists are Bill Evans, Michel Petrucciani, Joe Sample, Pat Metheny, and Ivan Lins.In 1982 Lenny started composing his own music. Working with many different musicians gave Lenny great experience in understanding of composition, arrangement, phrasing, and styles. Influenced by his classical education, classic rock, European pop music, jazz and new age, Lenny developed his own unique style of writing. In 1991, Lenny relocated to Hawaii, where he produced his first pop album, Only For You, which was also released in Japan in 1994. Lenny said this project was like emptying a glass. All of ...
