Exodus: Steve Souza (vocals); Gary Holt, Rick Hunolt (guitar); Mike Butler (bass guitar); John Tempesta (drums). Audio Mixer: Michael Barbiero. Audio Remixer: Marc Senesac. Recording information: Battery Studios, London, England; The Record Plant, Sausalito, CA. Illustrator: Ralph Steadman. Photographer: Karen Mason. For Force Of Habit, Exodus slows the pace a notch, drops the guitars a register, and gives the thrash a little room to breathe. Still, the approach does allow for some melody, and the inclusion of a pair of uncharacteristic cover versions in The Rolling Stone's "Bitch" and Elvis Costello's "Pump It Up." Force Of Habit also features some interesting lyrical content. "Me, Myself and I" satirizes the "me generation;" "One Foot In The Grave" sets straight any notion that substance abuse is cool; "Architect Of Pain" is an 11-minute magnum opus tribute to the Marquis de Sade. ~ Roch Parisien

Force Of Habit
$17.55 2008 archive release from one the forgotten greats of late '60s British Rock. The band was formed in London in 1969 by ex-Country Joe & the Fish bassist Bruce Barthol and two old friends from the Berkeley California Folk music scene, Gary Petersen and Phil Greenberg. Fat Harry was soon signed up by the original Pink Floyd management company. A quartet of 'musician's musicians', admired by everyone from Ralph McTell to Edgar Broughton and Michael Chapman, the group made only one LP for Harvest Records before disbanding in 1972. Now, this previously unreleased collection of studio demos and live recordings (taken from the band's own archive) finally sets the record straight, delivering a heady mix of Country, Folk, Blues and Psychedelia, as well as including, for the first time ever, a version of their much-loved live favorite, 'Mariachi Riff'. Hux.
Formerly Fat Harry: Gary Peterson (vocals, guitar, keyboards); Philip Greenberg (vocals, guitar); Bruce Bartholl (vocals, bass guitar); John Marshall , Alan Jackson, Laurie Allan (drums). Audio Remasterer: Philip Greenberg. U.K.-based but formed by Country Joe & the Fish bassist Bruce Barthol, Formerly Fat Harry meshed basic folk rock with elements of funk, jazz, and psychedelic rock; experimented with odd tempos; and quietly created some original, surprisingly intense music in the early 1970s. GOODBYE FOR GOOD captures the hidden side of this unique yet mostly forgotten rock band. The impressive, if uneven, compilation collects demos and live recordings from the band's short existence, revealing a wide range of styles from the mellow brooding of "Tell Me All About It When You See Me" to the raucous partying of "Funky 8." Because Formerly Fat Harry did only one album, and because this CD contains just two songs from that LP (and even so, in different versions), this disc can be considered a missing second record of sorts for the band. "Of sorts" is an important qualification here: since the dozen tracks are taken from demos and live recordings not originally cut with the intention of release, and since they were done over quite a long period, it's not fair to judge this as a stand-alone album. Understandably given the sources and wide chronological range, it's erratic ...

We've all longed for bliss in our lives, that perfect, peaceful sensation of pleasure, the joy of being at one with something wonderful. I can provide that bliss. Through the sensual power of hypnosis, I can allow your mind to experience pleasure without limits, bringing you into that easy, dreamy, sensual realm where your mind controls the sensations of your body, and my voice guides your mind. Some of you have been to that realm of bliss many times. Some of you have not yet experienced it...or are experiencing it now, for the first time. Because as you read these words, as you read my description of the sweet, hazy realm of trance, where you are safe and cherished as your mind sleeps, as my will takes command and guides you to new heights of pleasure as you submit to me, you can imagine it...and that's how it all begins. As you imagine it more strongly, as you allow my words to shape your thoughts, the imagination becomes more vivid, more real, and as it does, those first faint stirrings of bliss you feel will become a rush of pleasure. Do you want that? Then enter my Realm of Bliss, and begin your journey.I am a certified hypnotherapist and a Dominant woman. I have years of experience in both areas, and they combine to form my personal area of expertise. For more information on me, visit my websites. About Tranceplay:Some people visiting this page are experienced hypnosis many times before. Some may be less familiar with the joy of going into these wonderful states. Some of you may even wonder what trance is. Don't let the media portrayals fool you... Trance is simpler than it seems. Trance is just a state of relaxation and focus, a place we all go in our minds tens to hundreds of times every day. You have experienced it yourself, whether you know it or not! * When you read a book, and find yourself lost in its pages, you've entered a trance. * When you're watching a movie and forget your surroundings, you've entered a trance. * If you take a highway exit "on autopilot," or miss one because you were "deep in thought"... that too is trance. * Ever had someone wave a hand in front of your eyes and call your name with an "Earth to" in front? You were entranced. * Ever daydream your way through a class or a wait to see a professional? Yes, this ...
