Sequoia Groove Presents Buddha Lounge 6 album
$15.89 Number Ones replaces Design of a Decade, released 14 years prior. Excepting the new song "Make Me" (hard neo-disco/funk excellence), each song here was indeed a number one hit on Billboard's various charts, though "Got 'Til It's Gone" sneaks through a side door via the Japanese charts. One number one, oddly, is missing: "So Excited," a perfectly fine, 2006 single which topped the club chart. This set is more thorough with 1986-1996, too, adding Herb Alpert's "Diamonds" ...

Sequoia Groove Presents Buddha Lounge 6 CD music
$10.45 THE MARSHALL MATHERS LP won the 2001 Grammy Award for Best Rap Album. "The Real Slim Shady" won the 2001 Grammy Award for Best Rap Solo Performance. THE MARSHALL MATHERS LP was nominated for the 2001 Grammy Award for Album Of The Year.
A Caucasian rapper from Detroit, a Dr. Dre disciple with bright blonde hair--at first glance, Eminem seemed the unlikeliest of hip-hop stars. However, his debut, THE SLIM SHADY LP, contained clever rhymes and even the occasional innovation. His sophomore effort, THE MARSHALL MATHERS LP, proved that Eminem was no fluke, but instead a legitimate rap visionary.
While his horror/shock rap can be unsettling, it's more often hilarious, as he and his Slim Shady character skewer anyone and everyone, notably the MTV-based world that surrounded him after the ...
| | Buju Banton Friends For Life CD (2003) (Import) Bonus Track; Japan
Sequoia Groove Presents Buddha Lounge 6 music CDs
$40.75 Though Buju Banton is an undisputed master of dancehall reggae, his vision is expansive enough that he's able to successfully explore other styles in a way that would seem unthinkable or impossible for virtually any other dancehall star. With his second album for the artist-friendly Anti label, FRIENDS FOR LIFE, Banton lets his muse run unfettered. Though there are enough dancehall-oriented tracks here to sate the faithful ("What Am I Gonna Do," "Get it On," "Paid Not Played"), it's fascinating to hear Banton venture into other areas. "All Will Be Fine" is a rootsy, acoustic tune featuring female choral vocals. The romantic "One to One" finds Banton stepping into Gregory Isaacs-like lovers' rock territory. There's even a ska excursion, as he takes on the old ska chestnut "Feeling Groovy" (not the Simon & Garfunkel hit).
The smiley-face tone of this album title is not misleading. Although a couple of cuts tastefully skirt the edge of slackness and ...

By the fall of 1956, Riverside was finally primed to unleash Thelonious Monk upon the jazz world--straight, no chaser. Two superb piano trio albums of covers had set the stage for Monk the composer to re-emerge with horns, and the pianist responded with BRILLIANT CORNERS, one of his ...
