(5 Customer Reviews)
Bizzy Bone keeps busy with another tight solo project on Siccness Records, RUTHLESS. Bizzy sprays his fevered, high-speed rhymes over a bevy of gangsta tracks that range between hard bass thump, up-tempo club bangers, and laidback, smoky neo-G-Funk. RUTHLESS features production work by Cricet, Batkave, Dave Moss, and Steve Vicious as well as guest appearances from Layzie Bone, Pitbull, and Rick Ross.

LACKLUSTER This album is mediocre at best. BIZZY just toyed with this album without any care. In fact, he released it for the hell of it just like his many other prior indie albums. There may be only 2 good tracks, and the others are simply terrible.
If you’re a BONE fan and love to collect BONE albums, then buy it. If you’re not a BONE fan, then stay away from this lackluster independent album – and wait for his major album A SONG FOR YOU (release date slated for April) and hope that it is good. Ruthless
$14.65 Bone Thugs-N-Harmony came straight out of Cleveland, Ohio in the early 1990s, capturing the ears of Eazy-E, and, subsequently, the rest of the country, with its then-unique blend of hardcore rap and harmonized vocals. After fading into the background for awhile, the Bone clan returned prominently in early 2005. THE BONE BROTHERS, a collaboration between Bizzy Bone and Layzie Bone, follows close on the heels of a strong solo effort by Krayzie Bone, as well as a retrospective of Bone Thugs' career, and features appearances by all four free Bones (with Flesh-N-Bone in jail).
The album continues in the Bone tradition of complex flows delivered in a gloriously unpredictable fashion, incorporating numerous musical styles. In the chorus of "Hip Hop Baby," Bizzy and Layzie croon ...

| | Bizzy Bone Midwest Cowboy CD (2006)
Ruthless
$14.55 Maverick rapper Bizzy Bone's third release of 2006 -- and it's only July -- is yet another album that suggests the overly prolific man could up his chances if he slowed down and beefed up his quality control. At times, The Midwest Cowboy recalls 2004's very good Alpha and Omega, an album that included quite a bit of Bizzy's singing, and while it had plenty of the cryptic post-Bone lyrics that are now infamous, it didn't indulge to the point of disaster like some later albums. Also like Alpha and Omega, comprehendible bits of Bizzy's uneasy personal life shine through, extra enticing for hardcore fans and maybe just enough to sway the curious. Add to this some subtle hints that he misses Bone and would like to patch things up, and you've got what should be Bizzy's great return, but getting to these grand statements means slogging through eccentric filler and productions from an overworked Playalitical, who handles nearly everything in the background. Playalitical drowns the ...

| | Magellan Hundred Year Flood CD (2002) (Import) Japan
Ruthless
$40.75 Magellan is a group named for the Portuguese explorer Ferdinand Magellan. With a name like that, one expects their albums to take you on a journey, and this one does not disappoint. The group is composed of Trent Gardner, Wayne Gardner, and Joe Franco. Together with some notable guests, they have produced a CD that both captures elements of classic progressive rock and carves out its own niche in the musical landscape. The disc contains only three songs, one of them the album opener, a 35-minute opus (divided into 13 CD tracks) entitled "The Great Goodnight." The album deals with the personal loss of the Gardner brothers, that of their brother, Jack Elroy, in the Vietnam war. The piece is an appropriately emotional one that covers a lot of musical ground. Indeed, the composition pulls you in and gets you so wrapped up that it really does not seem like 35 minutes have passed. The second number on the album is an instrumental entitled "Family Jewels." If you think that one sounds like Jethro Tull, a lot of it probably has to do with the presence of Tull's Ian Anderson playing flute on the number. Other guests on the album include Tony Levin ...
