Denny Doherty Watcha' Gonna Do CD (1971)
You're Never Alone with a Cigarette: Sun City Girls Singles, Vol. 1 album for sale WA'CHA GONNA DO, the 1971 solo album by Denny Doherty, former lead singer of the Mamas and the Papas, is a country-tinged singer-songwriter effort including a remake of his former band's "Got A Feelin'" and a medley of the Beatles' "Here Comes the Sun" and "Two of Us."
Denny Doherty, the voice of numerous Mamas & Papas hits such as "California Dreamin,'" and "Monday, Monday," has been one of the greatest and most underrated lead vocalists of the rock era. While he had not completely explored the area of songwriting during his fame with the Mamas & Papas, he was the one member of the group who was truly at loose ends after the groups' demise in the late 1960s. While perhaps a contractual obligation, his first solo album has numerous charms. The record has a loose, party-in -the-studio feel, and much of that adds to the overall effect of this slightly country-oriented platter. Tracks such as "Gathering of the Words" and "Don't You Be Fooled" are quite remarkable, and show Doherty to be a sensitive artist in the singer/songwriter vein. A remake of "Got a Feelin'" features Doherty's world-class talent as a vocalist as well. The album's closer, a medley of "Here Comes the Sun" and "The Two of Us" ends the record in grand style, with Jimmie Haskell's exquisite string arrangement taking the listener into a wonderful and warm place. ~ Matthew Greenwald
Japan only 24 bit digitally remastered reissue of the former Mama & Papa's founding member's 1971 release. Produced by Bill Szymcyk, features Russ Kunkel on drums, Barry McGuire on harmonica, & Buddy Emmons on ...

Jason Cale Always CD (2006)
You're Never Alone with a Cigarette: Sun City Girls Singles, Vol. 1 buy CD music I have been on a lifelong spiritual, musical journey constantly seeking out as much musical knowledge and wisdom from books, friends, and mentors as possible. To be a successful musician in this world, you've got to live it. It's not about the money or fame, it's knowing that you've done everything in your power to play with people better than yourself and challenge yourself musically every day. Knowing music is one thing, but playing with passion, feeling, and from the heart is everything. So, in the words of Frank Zappa, "just shut up and play". "Always" is my first solo project I've done and I hope you enjoy it, there will be more to come.
Thanks for your support!

King Crimson Vroom Vroom CD (2001)
You're Never Alone with a Cigarette: Sun City Girls Singles, Vol. 1 songs Recorded live at Metropolitan Theater, Mexico City, Mexico and Longacre Theater, New York, New York on August 2-4, 1996 and November 20-25, 1995. Includes liner notes by Robert Fripp and Trey Gunn.
From the mid-'90s on, a steady stream of archival live King Crimson recordings began to appear, released by Crimson guitarist/leader Robert Fripp as the backbone of his independent cottage industry. This thicket of albums can be an intimidating proposition for the uninitiated, even though each one bears its own distinctive charms. For historical context, let's note that VROOOM VROOOM's two discs feature material from two separate stints in 1995 and '96 during which the band was exploring the "double quartet" concept. This format added second drummer Pat Mastelotto and "touch guitar" player (its nearest relative being Tony Levin's Chapman Stick) to the four-man lineup that led Crimson's '80s return to action.
While the necessity of these additions is sometimes questionable and/or inaudible, all members hold their own in the complex, gamelan-influenced latticework that the '80s Crimson inaugurated. The set lists are largely split between contemporary offerings and highlights from the band's three '80s albums, with impressive energy going into every performance. Some special, unexpected moments occur when the group launches into a chestnut like "Red" or "Larks' Tongues in Aspic" from the very different '70s version of Crimson, with surprising and exciting results.
Japanese reissue of 2001 double album packaged in a miniature LP gatefold sleeve, features 26 tracks. Universal. 2004.
Pat Mastelotto, Bill Bruford (drums. electronic drums, percussion).
CD comes in Jpn LP Sleeve.
King Crimson: Adrian Belew (vocals, guitar); Robert Fripp (guitar, electronics); Trey Gunn (guitar); Tony Levin (bass, Chapman stick);

Anniversary Edition; Digipak |
You're Never Alone with a Cigarette: Sun City Girls Singles, Vol. 1 buy CD music This 1989 album was the fifth in five years by this prolific Arizona band, which is led by songwriter Howe Gelb. He and his cohorts bring an honest exuberance to everything they do. There are raucous rock & roll numbers, desert-inflected country weepers, folkish workouts, and vast soundscapes of feedback.
Giant Sand is related to the reckless abandon of Neil Young & Crazy Horse, but Gelb's personality makes the music his band's own. One example is the chugging "Searchlight," a track that is rich with piano thrills and loopy gang vocals. There's also a cathartic element to LONG STEM RANT, which may have been due in part to the fact that Gelb had been recently divorced from his former singer partner, Paula Jean Brown (who came on board wonderfully with 1986's BALLAD OF A THIN LINE MAN).
Reissue of band's 1989 album with 2 added bonus tracks: Hardly a Day, & It's Longer Now. 22 tracks
