| | Very Best Of MTV Unplugged CD (2002)
Moodymanc001 songs
$13.95 This is a best-of compilation from MTV's famous acoustic series, including R.E.M, Sheryl Crow, and Lenny Kravitz.
As one of the most highly acclaimed series in the history of MTV, Unplugged afforded the opportunity for some of commercial music's most praised entertainers (as well as those musicians with a bit more artistic merit) to spotlight their hit songs in a different context. The show was met with surprisingly high acclaim and viewership, and everyone and their brother signed up for an "acoustic" session. Very Best of MTV Unplugged compiles some of the series most lauded moments, most notably Eric Clapton's smash performance of "Tears in Heaven." However, this is by no means a complete document of the sheer depth of talent that the show has provided over the years, nor is it indicative of the diversity that has been showcased. Aside from R.E.M., many notable performances from the show's early years (which featured, among others, the Cure and 10,000 Maniacs with their memorable rendition of "Because the Night") are conspicuously absent from the disc, as well as performances from the landmark Unplugged hip-hop sessions. Those issues aside, memorable performances do abound here, from some of the most important names in the history of pop music. ~ Rob Theakston

| | Lyricl Ooh U & I Vinyl LP (2007) (Import)
Moodymanc001 album
$14.29 After featuring on the work of the cream of dancefloor jazz, broken beats and house music for 4 years or more, LyricL has two singles out. Well it was about time. Seiji, Nathan Haines, MJ Cole, DJ Spinna, KV5, Mark de Clive-Lowe have all featured LyricL on some of their best work. But it's with two lesser known producers that L has come up with "Ooh U & I" and "He Wants To Know". John A is the producer behind the uptempo rolling brokenbeat and booming bass of "Ooh U & I", which is a tale of getting back with the ex. "He Wants To Know" is mid tempo broken jazz produced by RMS. It whacks the floor with sub bass and jacking brokenbeats, and L's rhymes are as tight as she sits on the riddim nice. ...

Moodymanc001 CD music
$8.55 25th through Gift Music. The track will be released on 7" and digital download. Part of the current burgeoning Brooklyn movement but sounding little like their compatriots, The Beasts of Eden (TBOE) have delivered an infectious alt-rock single, full of hook-laden melodies and inspirational lyrics. The single is lifted from their debut album 'End Times', which has just recently been released in America receiving rave reviews from the media and fans alike. The track has already been featured on the Zane Lowe radio one show. TBOE are Chris V (lead vocals/ guitar) and Chris Boosahda (Vocals/Lead Guitar/Lap Steel), Carter McLean (Drums) and Chaka Ohana (Bass/Keyboards). In the superheated crucible that is New York's underground ...

| | Avett Brothers I And Love And You Vinyl LP (2009) Dli
Moodymanc001 songs
$19.75 North Carolina sibling duo the Avett Brothers return in 2009, fresh off a few years of building a cult following for its melodic and rootsy alt-bluegrass sound, with the subdued I AND LOVE AND YOU. The opening single and title track basks in piano-pop splendor in an odd mix of Beach Boys, Byrds, and the Band.
The Avett Brothers continue charting the same musical course as EMOTIONALISM and MIGNONETTE on major-label debut I AND LOVE AND YOU, despite the presence of hands-on producer Rick Ruben. The country-folk duo continue to add elements of pop and hillbilly rock to a country/bluegrass foundation on the 2009 LP, a record with a newfound emphasis on piano and nuanced arrangements. Working with a larger budget allows the group to add small flourishes -- a cello line here, a keyboard crescendo there -- but the resulting music is rarely grand, focusing on textures rather than sheer volume. Scott and Seth Avett share vocals throughout the album, delivering their ...
