Still a stranger to her own body, a high school student discovers she has a physical advantage when she becomes the object of male violence. Director: Mitchell Lichtenstein. Writer-director Mitchell Lichtenstein's feature debut is a horror comedy combining elements of atom-age 1950s horror films with mythology and feminist theory. The result is a smart, sassy B-movie satire--funny, gross, and with a high squirm factor. A risky idea that could well have turned into a lower-tier Troma production, TEETH is a unique and surprising creation. Dawn (Jess Weixler) lives the life of a normal suburban teenager, except for the two nuclear reactors looming over her house. A goody two-shoes by any measure, she leads the local chapter of a chastity group, lecturing younger children on saving themselves for marriage. She finds herself stirred in unexpected ways, however, by new member Tobey (Hale Appleman). Dawn lets herself get closer to him than she has to anyone else, but when he rapes her, she discovers---in the most grisly way---that she is a true incarnation of the vagina dentata myth. As Dawn attempts to come to terms with her emerging sexuality and her second set of choppers, more men with bad intentions fall victim to their worst nightmare.
Lichtenstein, sometime actor and the son of artist Roy Lichtenstein, reportedly first heard of the vagina dentata myth while studying under Camille Paglia, and his take on it proves to be as frightening (and bloody) as one would expect. As Dawn, Weixler is winning, and watching her transformation from meek to empowered is a blast to watch. A handful of wincingly gory sequences will have horror fans howling, but there are layers to the film for those willing to peel them back. Cult favorite GINGER SNAPS, which examined menstruation as a metaphor for lycanthropy, is an obvious cousin and great candidate for a double feature, but TEETH is completely its own. Teeth Reviews: "Writer-director Mitchell Lichtenstein is onto something really fresh in his feature debut, flipping a graphic warning for men into an empowering fable for women." -- Grade: B+-- Lisa Schwarzbaum, Entertainment Weekly "[A] gruesome yet sweet, genital obsessed yet brainy horror-comedy..."-- Kat Brown, Empire "[A] mischievous reversal of stereotypes....It offers a tender portrait of sexual awakening and a satire of evangelical small-town America....Jess Weixler's excellent performance ensures that Dawn is a real teenager."-- Sight and Sound Critic, Sight and Sound "[A] dark, gory and hilarious sendup....Campy, shameless and sophisticated, Lichtenstein's debut is gutsy and original..."-- Carina Chocano, Los Angeles Times "Teenage horror-movie spoof, John Waters parody, No Nukes protest movie, twisted sex-education film, quasi-feminist fable, outrageous stunt: Mitchell Lichtenstein's clever, crude comedy, TEETH, is all these and more."-- Stephen Holden, New York Times

OUCH!!! This movie is warped, funny, sick, and entertaining. I really liked this movie, it was twisted in the same fashion as David Cronenberg's Shivers. The lead actress is very good and you feel for her, but you don't want to make her too mad. Take this in the spirit in which it was intended and you'll enjoy it too. $9.69 The grisly and debauched film PATHOLOGY is a juiced-up medical thriller that plays like FLATLINERS with a mean streak and a broken moral compass. Writers Mark Nelvedine and Brian Taylor have created a premise allowing for CSI-like forensics along with heaps of sex and violence, truly making the most of the film's R-rating. A high-end exploitation film with good performances, PATHOLOGY is strong enough for horror fans and should go down smoothly for non-squeamish viewers with a taste for the dark side.
Gifted med student Ted Grey (Milo Ventimiglia, HEROES) arrives at a major Washington, D.C., as an intern, where he is met with suspicion and resentment by the tightly knit group of fellow young pathologists-in-training. Soon, though, Ted is accepted into their circle---where they each take turns committing a murder so that the others may prove their mettle by figuring out the cause of death and celebrate with drug-fueled orgies among the dead bodies in the hospital. Things change for Ted, though, when his law student fiancée, Gwen (Alyssa Milano), moves to the city and helps to scare him straight. Soon, crazed Wallace Stevens-quoting leader Jake Gallo (Michael Weston) turns on Ted, putting both Ted's and Gwen's lives in ...

Teeth movie DVD
$9.69 Director George A. Romero returns to the subject matter that made him famous with this postmodern take on the zombie genre. DIARY OF THE DEAD begins in innocuous fashion as a group of film students head out into the woods to make a low-budget horror film. This film-within-a-film is directed by Jason Creed (Joshua Close), who draws on a group of friends, and his college professor, to get the job done. But the filming comes to an abrupt halt when news comes in that the dead are springing back to life, devouring people, and taking over the world. Film obsessive Creed doesn't put his camera down for long, and he's soon heading out on the road with his friends in a quest to document the real-life carnage as it unfolds. The film is shot entirely from the point of view of Creed and his camera-wielding friends, and in a neat nod to contemporary technology, Romero's feature is full of references to websites such as MySpace and YouTube.
This interesting sidestep from Romero's long-running zombie saga is a 21st century take on the initial zombie outburst that occurred in the director's 1968 classic NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD. Romero unleashes much of his trademark gore and violence as the ...

Initially intended to be released as part of the 2007 Afterdark Horrorfest, FRONTIERE(S) was dropped after being refused an R-rating by the MPAA due to extreme violence.
