(1 Customer Review)
Aptly described by the New York Times as the "Prince of Americana" for the extraordinary breadth and variety of his talents in performing, arranging, and songwriting, Jackie Greene delivered another ace addition to his catalog with 2008's GIVING UP THE GHOST, his fifth full-length and 429 Records debut. Between the stomping "Follow You" and the hauntingly restrained "Prayer for Spanish Harlem," there appears to be very little Greene cannot do with a guitar and a few chords.

Giving Up The Ghost
$11.89 American Myth is singer/songwriter Jackie Greene's true debut for the Verve Forecast label. Sweet Somewhere Bound, issued in 2005, was actually recorded for the Dig Music label (where his previous albums appeared) in 2004 and licensed by Universal. American Myth is a much more complex affair than anything he's done previously. The list of players is impressive: from Davey Faragher and Peter Thomas to Greg Leisz and Steve Berlin (who did a fine job producing this set), to name a few. ...
