P.O.D. were perhaps unfairly lumped in with the "rap-rock" pack prevalent on the radio and MTV at the dawn of the millennium. While the group certainly didn't avoid the occasional hip-hop or funk influence, their sound tended to hew closer to the kind of spiritually infused, reggae-tinge hardcore of Bad Brains. WHEN ANGELS AND SERPENTS DANCE finds the Christian warriors reunited with their founding guitarist and still standing when many of their multi-platinum contemporaries have fallen away. The band's melodic side continues to encroach on the heaviness, most notably on the power ballad "This Ain't No Ordinary Love Song," the delicate "Roman Empire," and the lilting, Rastafarian "I'll Be Ready." But they still drop the hammer when necessary. "God Forbid" slams home with stuttering drums and guitar and singer Sonny Sandoval's most aggressive vocals on the record, and "Condescending" is classic, driving metallic haze.

p.o.d is always been a good band with rap/metal but i love this cd becouse it is more metalish sound the the others . i hope they keep moveing towards music like this.

This Cd sounds more like a bad sampler of varity songs.
To bad Marcos came back...Truby was more talented.
This CD has a few good songs like 3 total.
Well maybe better luck to these guys on the next one.

Folks This One Sucks !!
In My several listens I have come to the conculsion P.O.D. has lost the fundamentals of makeing sound cds.
This sounds more like a sampler cd with
songs that are all over the place in styles.
P.O.D. seems to keep useing the word Jaw which by the way is not in the bible ...Just thought Id toss that info in here. The correct word is Yahway.
Anyways Sonny also ruined a great song by screaming on track 2 Shine with me
what a pity !
Then what were they thinking on Godforbid another filler track on a already confused CD.
Marcos U suck Truby was much more talented then you on the last two CD's!
Bottom line this CD is nothing more then Fast Food Music ...Please save your hard earned money and go on a vacation instead of buying this crap kids ! Have a nice Day :) !

Rise Against's The Unraveling seems to be a bit of a change for Fat Wreck Chords. Oh, it's still punk (surprisingly, it was recorded by Mass Giorgini), it's just a lot more aggressive and not nearly as cheesy as many of the label's acts. This album is not poppy, and there's no juvenile humor; Rise Against is a pretty tough band and The Unraveling shows that aspect. The vocals have a good deal of melody and range, yet can break into screaming at any moment, as many of the tracks show. Songs like "Everchanging" show the possibilities that the Chicago quartet is capable of. The lyrics are mature and thoughtful, dealing with friendships and relationships, religion and memories. Similar comparisons could be made to Whippersnapper and Grey Area, yet there are certain ways The Unraveling stands out on its own, primarily in its use of melody in the vocals. While Whippersnapper's vocals are more metal and Grey Area's punk, Rise Against is melodic hardcore. Showing that they're not too far from their roots in 88 Fingers Louie, the punk energy is pure and unadulterated here.
