Since then she has held pulpits at both Reform and Conservative congregations.Cantor Komrad most recently appeared in concert (November 2005) with Cantors Sol Zim and Alberto Mizrahi for the International Cantorial Foundation, at the North Shore Center for the Performing Arts, Chicago. She is the first female cantor to participate in a concert for the Foundation. $11.49 “That Gumbo Sound” Often said to come from a mixture of different ingredients enjoined to create one style, sound or form of music. While the origin of “That Gumbo Music” is one that shares the likeness of Soul, the swagger of Blues, The consciousness of Roots Reggae, It is purely Hip Hop. To call the music gumbo is just to say that one has many influences. When you look at the food that is known as gumbo, note that it is the preparation of purpose of, and the necessity of a thing that determines its level of importance. The ingredients that make up gumbo are placed into an already existing base to create an effect, while the base ingredient remains in the mix. It is what was added that makes the original more prevalent and tasty. The Gumbo Music originated in the mid southwestern part of the country (the red river region of Oklahoma and Texas) when a crew known as Basu Empire began to merge their talents and efforts to demonstrate to there peers in the rap game that they possessed their own identity and could be contenders for all mc’s. They quickly developed a campaign that exceeded the bounds of just music. Southern rap was beginning to dominate new markets and that would allow them to reach national audiences, but Prauf was just now beginning to spread the BASU (Business As Usual) Gospel. There was never any formula to speak of that would allow the mc’s on this small corner of the map access to the type of media they needed to reach out to the supporting cities simultaneously, so the music had to be extra special .Since the message of self-awareness has been under taught in the bible belt for years Prauf made a statement in his music and performances that spoke to diversity which gave the locals that “we are the last link in the chain and we have much to conquer” spirit. Suddenly Prauf found himself at the spearhead of the BASU Movement and people began to take notice. While the southern swagger and altruistic approach to talking about struggle and relationships has a lyrical approach that may not be new to some: every one should know that Prauf’s Gumbo recipe contains ingredients that could have only come from the base and the native soil of hip hop. That being said it is important to mention that just as it is with the gumbo dish, there will always be more than one way to prepare and present the main course. In closing here is some history on gumbo; with the exception of boasting that the new is better than the original; this is the perfect analogy of what you can expect from the artist known as “Prauf” ...

$11.39 My name is Guido Luciano Dabney. I was born and raised on the Southside of Chicago. As a youngsta I always had a passion to entertain which turned into a love of music. At the age of 5 I was known in my neighborhood as a young star. My family helped me to develop my drive and hunger to be an artist and rock the mic. When I moved to Gary in 1990, Chaoz was born. In 1995 I formed my first rap group call "UNknown Souljaz", in 1997 we performed at the Gary Black Expo as a new coming group out of Gary, Mad Dog aka Uno the Don was born. In 1998 I moved to Indianapolis, which in turn built my ambition for battling rappin’ at the drop of a dime with anybody any time.... at the local skating rink, West and East. I became a known beast on the mic Unovellia was born. In 1999 I formed a click of rappers known as "Melisha Style". We were known as the pack of wolves, cause we’d attack any that step to the plate for the challenge. In 2000 I caught a case that got me 15 years behind the wall, but the story doesn't end their it only began. In prison I became more focused on my music then ever in my life. Every day I pushed myself to write a new song. Then in 2002 my inspiration came, my best friend, who was in my first rap group, was murdered in Gary Indiana in cold blood. My compassion to be the best, with my thug in the sky watching me, pushed me to never stop until I become the ...
