| Best Of Tango Argentino: Live At The Festival In Granada 1994-97 CD (2005)
Meridiano Buenos Aires music CDs
$9.58 Music composed by Piazolla, Gardel, and Troilo.
Contains 34 tracks.
Well, ARC has done it again: they've provided a competent midline CD with such minimal liner notes that one cannot even tell who is playing which instrument. The instruments are violin, piano, guitar, vocals, bass, and bandoneon, but there are only three musicians listed on the cover, although admittedly not every instrument appears on every track. The recording is a selection from four years of performances at a festival in Granada, Spain, a town which has taken tango to its heart, even though the form originated in the New World . The song list is not doctrinaire: it opens with a number by Astor Piazzola, the quintessential modern, but the second number is so traditional that you might have seen Gomez and Morticia dance to it on The Addams Family. | | Chris Littler There's Still Room To Walk CD (2007)
Meridiano Buenos Aires music CDs
$12.69 Chris Littler has been writing music for nearly a decade. While in his home state of Arizona, he frequently dabbled in his home recording studio - inviting friends from high school over to pound soda and bottled water, recording tracks well into the night. Dehydration was a real danger, as recording required the fans and air conditioning to be temporarily halted. Anyone who has spent time in the desert knows that the mere idea of spending an afternoon in a cramped, insulated basement with no source of relief is madness. But music makes people do silly things.Chris moved to New York City to attend the prestigious Tisch School of the Arts at NYU. Aside from being a musician, he is a screenwriter and a playwright - which is an obvious influence on his lyrics, which tackle the heavier aspects of his life with trivial wordplay. Besides the experience of basement recording, Chris brought a few other things with him from Arizona - his piano keyboard and acoustic guitar. When the words on the page aren't getting the feeling across just right, Chris turns to music to set the record straight.A trip to Ireland provided most of the inspiration for Chris's latest album, "Send My Warmest to Nameless". After arriving back in the States, he asked his friend and producer Caroline Eppright to round up musicians to help him turn his few scraps of songs into a full-length album. Recording artist and fellow Tisch student Deb Oh was the first to come on board, providing the angelic harmonies and the more subtle piano pieces. After her, drummer Zach Arlan and bassist Darren Will joined to create the ensemble that would provide the energy that drives the album. ...
