 raw and real power !
I am a big super fan of Kc, from the early quiet sound of the 60's to now and I have no problem with changes and different formation as long as the spirit of KC live, just so you know where I am coming from and this kind of give out my age group, not so young anymore! big smile, now, I want to say that this is a very power machine kind of cd concert, I will agree that the sound is different than other but I would not say by no shot that sound is so call not so good, though I do respect everyone opinion, but I will say that the sound of this set is more what a live album should sound, is is not polish the way most of the live cd are these days, it is raw and in your face, but I do have a pretty good sound system and the sound is for sure very metal , a sens of almost if not punk to it. it has a lot of energy, I would say, if you can, put this full volume and you see what I mean, even the voice of the band is just having fire and his pents, you know, sometime the voice of the band say the thanks after the song so quietly and with respect with no energy, well, on this one, the respect for the fan is still there but you can tell that the man has a big smile on his face and he rock and he is thrill to be there. I am a blind person, so, I don't bother, though I could with high teck stuff read the foot note and so on, but I guess I am lazy that way and I just enjoy the music, but I would even go as far as to say that there is a certain element of almost sexual vibration and his voice and let me give you an exemple, after one song, he say his thanks and the music start and the piece will be the waiting man, if you know the song, the singer is calling on what may be a love one to come back and come back right? and you can hear clearly a young lady in the croud just melting on her chair, it is actually kind of amusing, I didn't hear a reaction like this in a long long time, I guess when you get older like me, my lady companion is some what older and don't melt in a chair at the concert like this one, on and all, this is a powerfull rock show of KC, the only thing at the beginning that did bug me a little is that the croud was some what too much in my face and I would have prefer that they would have some how with tecknology put the volume down on the croud, but you know what? now, I just love it, you will laugh but being blind it is very easy for me to be in the center of my five speaker sound system in my bed room and have a fantasy that I am part of the croud and really live the concert, I am not going crazy on you but that is how good it is. this one made me feel young again, being able to hear all thos voices in the crouds how they display their passion for the band, and to me, it is well mix together with the music well balance. I say if you want a KC full of energy and a big smile on the singer's face and a metal sound that will drive next door crazy, go for it, listen to this set full volume and just make sure the police don't get you! big smile, and yes , you will find some enjoyable surprises in this set too, the way that the song will again sound some what different and what do stand out a lot is the drummer, you kind of can't miss the factg that KC made sure that the drums are really part of the show just as much in the front than the guitar or others, the different drum works on the stage is amazing, I just love it. oh! I almost forgot to mention the fact that at the beginning of the cd one, if I get it right, I think that the first act had to cancel and Robert Fripp take the stage to do some soundscape and the cd set give you a taste of it, I am sure that they didn't put on the set the complete performence that Fripp did to replace the set of the firt band but it does give us an idea of what did happen, for people that don't care for soundscape, don't worry, it is short and you can always scip it to the start of the show, I say go for it, the price is fair , more than fair, good stuff.
