Drought Season album
$13.15 Enter the Jacka. The death of 2Pac in the mid 90's ripped the heart out of West Coast Hip Hop. At the same time a young street poet named the Jacka was honing his skills in the Bay Area Rap game. Always open minded, he was influenced by b-boys and thugs, pimps and Imams. The Jacka has since developed into an established, well-rounded, well-versed emcee in the right place to bring the West Coast some serious attention. The Jacka's music is a reflection of his life. He witnessed the birth of the dope game and the drug war that followed, as the battle was waged in his community, on his block, and in his house. Memories of departed loved ones haunt his mind and soul. His release is to share his experiences through his music. Reality hurts. Rap is the Jacka's medicine. That and some purple. Jacka's success proves his mettle as an emcee. He has been featured on over 50 albums over the past six years. His contributions to the Mob Figaz self-entitled album resulted ...

Drought Season music CDs
$16.75 The khasene is the Jewish wedding ceremony, which has remained largely unchanged for centuries -- at least until Solomon & Socalled decided it was time to bring it into the 21st century. Lauded violinist Sophie Solomon, of British klezmer band Oi-Va-Voi, teams with Canadian DJ Socalled (who's more producer than DJ in the turntable sense) for this. It takes a few plays to make sense of the project -- on first listening it's a mishmash of sounds, samples, beats, and ideas, ranging from achingly lyrical to downright hilarious. There's rabbinical singing, rapping in Yiddish and English (from Michael Alpert), ...

Drought Season album
$9.09 This is a DualDisc, which contains a CD on one side of the disc and a DVD on the other.
Coming at the end of the Talking Heads' discography, NAKED finds the Heads returning to many elements of the complex, polyrhythmic arrangements that marked their work earlier in the decade, prior to the rootsier LITTLE CREATURES. Reflecting a more European influence, NAKED was recorded in Paris and produced by Steve Lillywhite, who brings to bear his gift for making sprawling arrangements sound remarkably down-to-earth and radio-friendly (see U2). The album's truly special guest is former Smith Johnny Marr, who lends his imaginative fretboard work and timeless pop sensibility to tunes such as "Nothing but Flowers," and "Cool Water." Other standouts include "Blind," a bombastic groove that foreshadows Byrne's soon-to-follow solo work. Sparse, spastic, and filled with intellectual social rage, NAKED is at once a return to form and a fitting sendoff for one of music's relentlessly original and truly important forces.
This Dualdisc features the entire album on the CD side, along with a bonus song "Sax and Violins." The DVD side features the 5.1 mix and music video for "Sax and Violins" along with the "Blind" video.

$12.39 Expressing my thoughts, dreams and views in the art of hiphop has always been a hobby of mine. It grew into a never ending passion. Hiphop allowed me to be myself while granting me freedom of speech in a fun, energetic, dramatic and emotional way. Born on the 18th September 1985, I am 22 years old Gustave Smith, a fellow native of Sandy Point, a small town in St.Kitts, W.I. My hiphop journey began at age 8 when I started writting hiphop ryhmes at the back of my school books. At age 13, while in highschool, I formed a group with my fellow classmate Talvert Clarke (I.T.Y.C.) and started making music with him as well as performing on every show that was held in the school. At age 14 we then recorded our first single, "Tru Ballers" in a professional studio. We went on to performing at talent shows and beauty pagents in our community. Having graduated from highschool I soon later released two solo underground independant albums under the rap name "Smithoscious". My first solo project was called "Barical" in 2002 followed up by "Love By Much Hated By Many" in 2005. Having grown up and matured more musically, I now go by the name S.M.I. The name "S.M.I." simply stands for "St.Kitts Most Incredible". I considers myself to be one of the best or if not the best lyrists on the island in he hiphop music. My music tends to please both females and males alike. Often times people who see me performing can't believe thats me. Even so are stund by the astonishing music and performance I deliever at shows I've performed on. Due to this my fanbase keeps getting bigger and bigger on a daily basis. People keep adding me on my myspace[www.myspace.com/smisparkling] as well as requesting my songs on the radio stations. I'm so thankful for the support because I'm just about ready to release my 3rd independant solo album. "I'm tryna be one of the best lyrisists on the island" or "I'm tryna make my mark on hiphop." "I'm glad to have support from both males and females for my music" "I've gotten good reviews about my performances and I'm working to make them even better." The album is entiled "Hood Famous" and features 16 new tracks, all of which were mostly written by myself with a little help from my SparklingEntertainment family. So far, I have release two singles off of the new album which are "Take it Back to Da Club" and "I Stay Fresh", both of which are very catchy and energtic. So far people tends to relate to "I Stay Fresh" a lot (a lot is two words) more due to its ego tipping message "I Stay Fresh." I have been performing ...
