Hailing from The Netherlands, Nick & Jeffrey van der Schilden and Peter Spaargaren form the trio called Easily Embarrassed. Idyllic Life is their debut CD showing what they're good at.Quality psychill among the lines of Shpongle and Ott, but comparing those artists would be a disgrace as they have their truly unique style.***Easily Embarrassed is an electronic music group producing Psychill music. The band is based in the Netherlands and consists of brothers Nick van der Schilden and Jeffrey van der Schilden together with Peter Spaargaren. Each member of the group has made an interesting musical development in the past, and in July 2006 the three combined forces to summon Easily Embarrassed. After various well received digital EP releases on different netlabels, Easily Embarrassed kept their audience wanting more with their remix of Suspicious Minds on the Cosmotherapy album by Dream Lab.In February 2008, the group made an incredible debut with their album Idyllic Life. It brings an uplifting, melodic Psychill journey to another side of life. A wonderful blend of soothing ambient, disturbing atmospheres, glitched beats and emotional synth work. Idyllic Life
$11.49 Named for a town near Bristol, England, Portishead is a British dance band that grabs ideas from all over the mod pop world (spaghetti Western guitars, turntable scratching, melancholy soul vocals, atmospheric organs, house beats) and stirs them into spacey, dub-like productions that sound like a dance club in the middle of a "Twin Peaks" dream. You could call it surreal hip-hop pop. But if the beats on the band's debut album achieve a kind of trance-like static, the songs themselves reach for something more rousing. With understated lyrics and overstated melodies, singer Beth Gibbons and bandleader Geoff Barrow write insinuatingly melancholy dance ballads that ebb and flow like waves through rustling waters. Organs quaver in quiet tremolos, ...
| | Portishead Third CD (2008)
Idyllic Life
$11.99 More than a decade after its self-titled sophomore outing, the pioneering British electronica ensemble Portishead finally resurfaced with 2008's THIRD, an album that both meets and defies expectations. Although the record features many of the group's aural signatures--most notably that exquisitely dark, cinematic mood and Beth Gibbons's heartbreaking vocals--it presents little in the way of vintage trip-hop, proving that sonic masterminds Geoff Barrow and ...

| | Thievery Corporation Cosmic Game CD (2005)
Idyllic Life
$12.55 Washington, DC-based sophisticates Thievery Corporation (producers Rob Garza and Eric Hilton) made several albums of superb down-tempo electronica prior to THE COSMIC GAME, and each release refined the duo's sensuous blend of deep, head-nodding beats, exotic world-music melodies, and lounge-ready atmospherics. This 2005 record builds on the strengths of the Corporation's previous albums, offering more stylish, club-targeted soundscapes to excellent effect. The series of all-star guests that parades through the album raises the Corporation's profile even higher.
The Flaming Lips contribute additional instruments and vocals to the dreamy opener "Marching the Hate Machines (Into the Sun)," while the trip-hop-flavored "Revolution Solution" features Perry Farrell on vocals. Indian themes surface ...

| | Kitaro Best Of Ten Years 1976-86 (20 Bit Master) CDs (1997) 1976-1986
Idyllic Life
$18.19 Kitaro has long been one of the linchpins of new age music, and his sizable discography might prove intimidating to newcomers. For that reason, BEST OF TEN YEARS 1976-1986 is a great place for the uninitiated to start. Over two discs and 18 tracks, BEST OF TEN YEARS provides an excellent overview of Kitaro's art, which centers on soothing, symphonic landscapes generated primarily by synthesizer.
Many of Kitaro's best and best-known albums--KI, OASIS, and the SILK ROAD series among them--were released in the first decade of his career, and highlights from those albums are included here. Kitaro's devoted international fanbase hold fast to the notion that his music ...

| | Truckstop Honeymoon CD (2006)
Idyllic Life
$13.85 Truckstop Honeymoon play tough, funny, hi-octane songs about interstates, pinball arcades and true love. Katie Euliss pounds a doghouse bass while Mike West punishes a banjo mercilessly. Together they charm festival crowds and drive roadhouse drinkers to the dance-floor.Since hurricane Katrina washed them out of New Orleans, Truckstop Honeymoon have traveled to the ends of the Earth and back, performing in Australia, Holland, Germany, Britain and throughout the US. Their music tells a story so honest and strange you know they didn’t make it up.Katie learned whore-house piano and bucket bass in the streets of the French Quarter. There she met Mike, a banjo-slinging grifter who sold CDs he claimed cured hangovers and small-mindedness. After a court house wedding, the pair hit the road. They spent their wedding night in a truck stop somewhere between Lafayette and the Atchafalya Swamp. And so Truckstop Honeymoon was born.On August 29 2005, flood waters submerged their home base in the Lower 9th Ward of New Orleans. Truckstop Honeymoon were on tour when the storm hit and so on-tour is where they stayed. Mike and Katie played ...
| | Carter Austin Letters To Myself CD (2008)
Idyllic Life
$13.15 Carter sang his first note in December 1969. From that time he was always singing for family and friends, but he began singing publicly at age nineteen. That's also when he began writing music. After learning on his own how to play acoustic guitar and piano, he began honing his songwriting abilities beyond what many expected. Carter was a mild wild child, but somehow he was able to rein in his unrestrained energy, long enough to ponder over lyrics and melodies. Carter likes to listen to and play all kinds of music. He writes not only about the world around him and the different peaks of his life, but about the deepest valleys of his heart as well. He expresses ...
