This aint no sugar coated sweet and sickly prance through the brightly coloured flower fields of life, this is a deep meaningful journey into the dark recesses of the mind. An in your face preview of life as seen, heard and now bitterly and venomously portrayed by YnoT. It's gutsy its heart wrenching its ballsy ... its Life but not as we know it. Seven brilliantly thought provoking tunes that will have you on the edge of your seat and even though the lyrics are deeper than most oceans you'll be tempted to slip off the edge of your seat, as you feel your feet start to move to the tempo and beat of each song. Some acts fail to get better with each release this is not the case with YnoT, with every release YnoT are getting stronger and stronger and this is proof YnoT have come a long way in the last year since the release of Sexland. If you haven't experienced the unique and raw sound of YnoT yet Life would be the best place to start, listen once and like it, listen twice you'll be hooked. Track Listing (Independently marked Out of 10)Everyday (I live With This)..... 8P.B.N.....Dogs Life..... 8No Respect..... 7Who Said.....8.5The Point..... 10Always Away..... 9So YnoT Get A Life NowIts time for the sound of Ynot to be heard around the world. It's time to bring back rocks legacy. As Dick Hebdige was quoted in the book 'Punk Rock, So What: The Cultural Legacy of Punk', its transformations go 'against nature', interrupting the powers of 'normalization'. They are gestures, movements towards a speech that offends the 'silent majority', which challenges the principals of unity and cohesion, which contradicts the myth of consensus. That is the basis of pure true in your face punk. That is the basis of YnoT. Ynot was born and bred in the UK and has been compared with many great punk rock bands of the past. In reviews it was said YnoT is classic old school punk rock, reminiscent of the sex pistols, with plenty of great guitar riffs and charged vocals. You decide, but one thing you can't argue, Ynot is the pure raw, rip your heart out and make you ask for more type of rock. The kind that leaves you wondering what emotion the next song will tear out of you. When you listen to Ynot you're not going to get the overproduced, stereotypical trash often heard today. You get crunching power chords, emotionally strained vocals, and catchy hooks all held together with thought provoking lyrics. It takes you back to the kind of punk rock that you would never dare to polish off the rough edges. The song writing is based on the inspirations that life gives us all, and yet provides the perfect escape for your imagination to run without the restraints of reality. Its time to release YnoT in the United States to 'interrupt the powers of normalization', and speak up even if it does offend the 'silent majority'. We are not put here to be silent; everyone has a voice and choices to make. That's a thing called 'Life' so YnoT!There's something happening, something bubbling underneath that is ready to explode,Something that can't be kept a secret for much longer. There is a growing army gathering outside the rock n roll gates of hell chanting one name, a name that will soon become recognized by the masses. Dare you join the masses that are ready to kick down the gates? Will you allow your ears to be seduced by pure honest rock music? The kind of music that has been lost in the avalanche of sickly sold out manufactured pop pre Madonna's. Its time to take a stand, its time to give music back to the people, so join the army and send forth the name of YnoT.BJ.Thompson Y-Not Life Songs | 1. | Everyday (I Live With This) |

Life album
$9.58 The second Glee soundtrack throws a bone to the show's supporting characters, with Jenna Ushkowitz (the faux-stuttering Tina) singing her first solo and Amber Riley (Mercedes) receiving a larger chunk of airtime. Lea Michele and Matthew Morrison continue to steal the show, though; Morrison delivers one of the album's most inventive songs with a mash-up of "Don't Stand So Close to Me" and "Young Girl," while Michele sings the absolute pants off of everything the producers give her. The album sometimes strays away from choral arrangements and focuses on individual actors, but it's hard not to sing along with a song like "Jump," where the cast replaces Eddie Van Halen's keyboard riff with bright choral harmonies. ~ Andrew Leahey

| | Gov't Mule By A Thread CD (2009)
Life music CDs
$11.89 BY A THREAD is Gov't Mule's first studio album since HIGH & MIGHTY was issued in 2006. Since that time, bassist Andy Hess has been replaced by Jorgen Carlsson, though Hess appears on two tracks at the end of the album. Carlsson's playing style is much more aggressive than Hess', and is therefore closer - in spirit anyway - to Gov't Mule's original bassist, the late Allen Woody, though he possesses an adventurous sense of time and is harmonically more colorful than either Woody or Hess. Carlsson and drummer Matt Abst are a solid match, since Abst is a drummer used to shifting time signatures and allowing the unexpected in while still driving a band. The band's keyboardist and rhythm guitarist, Danny Louis, is a shape-shifter, playing to whatever is needed in a given track. His manner of coloring sounds inside and around a particular tune's framework is a large part of what makes Gov't Mule's sound so fresh here - despite the fact that they don't stray far from what they do best. Warren Haynes and his guitar are, as usual, front and center, his guitar screaming, his big throaty growl hammering down lyrics like a Southern ...

Life songs
$7.59 Digitally remastered by Bernie Grundman (Bernie Grundman Mastering, Los Angeles, California).
Jackson's domination of the world record market continued following Thriller, although by comparison it was an almighty flop with only 12 million sales. As Pink Floyd and Dire Straits have proved, one album can go completely sales haywire without necessarily being any better. The title track and the gorgeous "Man In The Mirror" were substantial hits, but quality material such as "Dirty Diana" and "Liberian ...

| | Sun Ra We Travel The Spaceways/Bad And Beautiful CD (1992)
Life music CDs
$13.85 The music on WE TRAVEL THE SPACEWAYS and BAD & BEAUTIFUL comprises a mixed bag of the great Sun Ra in transition. The inclusion of several pop standards on BAD & BEAUTIFUL harkens back to Sun Ra's early night club days in Chicago, even as tunes like "Exotic Two" and "Ankh" look simultaneously to the future and the rhythms of antiquity.
The stripped down instrumentation of the 1961 sextet recording BAD & BEAUTIFUL puts the focus on Sun Ra's piano work and the melodic contributions of his three great reed mainstays: alto shaman Marshall Allen, tenor collosus John Gilmore, and baritone great Pat Patrick. Together, these musicians formed the core of Sun Ra's bands for decades, not unlike Ellington's great core of reedmen.
The 1958-59 sessions that make up WE TRAVEL THE SPACEWAYS feature Sun Ra at his cosmic tone organ and piano allowing him to achieve eerie oriental harmonies of "Eve." On a bluesy tune like "Space Loneliness" you can hear Ra taking a traditional riff structure (Jimmy Forrest's "Night Train") and stretching it harmonically by use of polytonal devices and astringent melodic contrasts. At the same time the lush sonorities of "New Horizons" are mitigated by quirky percussion colors, ritualistic rhythmic figures and Ronnie Boykins' funky bass ostinato. And for those who question Ra's jazz pedigree, there are the Tadd Dameronian structures of the hard boppin' "Velvet."
Includes liner notes by Art Lange.
Recorded in Chicago, Illinois between 1958 and 1960.
Recorded at the Choreographers' Workshop, New York, New York in 1961.

| | Bob Crosby Complete Bob Cats, Vol. 3: It's All Over Now CDs (2008) (Import)
Life songs
$13.65 "I'm the only guy in the business who made it without any talent." That self-disparaging statement (entirely untrue in an entertainment marketplace that has always teemed with heavily promoted overpaid nothings) was made by Bing Crosby's little brother Bob Crosby, leader of a successful big band and a smaller unit known as the Bob Cats. It's All Over Now, the concluding volume in a three-part tribute to this traditional Dixieland and Chicago style swing band, covers the Bob Cats' Decca recording output from February 1940 to July 1942. The old-fashioned jazz approach, which was also present from time to time in the larger orchestra's charts, was the cornerstone of the Bob Cats' sound. At least it was until around 1940 when Crosby hired Jimmy Mundy to write relatively modern arrangements for the big band and modified the sound of the Bob Cats by showcasing vocalists other than singing bandmembers like guitarist Nappy Lamare, here featured on "Don't Call Me Boy" and "You're Bound to Look Like a Monkey When You Get Old," as well as saxophonist Eddie Miller, who joins Lamare in mouthing the words to "'Way Down Yonder in New Orleans." In addition to wholesome Marion Mann, this portion of the Bob Cats story features the voices of Connee Boswell, famous brother Bing and Bob Crosby himself. This 39-track collection, in fact, is positively saturated with vocals by the Crosbys. This means that with the exception of excellent Dixieland numbers like "That Da Da Strain," "Sweethearts on Parade," "It's a Long, Long Way to Tipperary," and "Tin Roof Blues," this leg of the Bob Cats saga is heavily sweetened with pop vocals. The consensus among jitterbugs, the early-40s record buying public, level-headed big-and historian George T. Simon and Bob Crosby himself is that Bing's little brother wasn't all that captivating of a singer, no matter how hard he tried and regardless of how many Bob Cats' records were dominated by his tonsils.
