Dario Argento returned to the giallo genre with the shocker that remains one of the director's greatest. Anthony Franciosa stars as an America mystery novelist on a promotional tour in Rome who finds that his most recent book has inspired a copycat serial killer. included are brand-new bonus features. A virtual style-fest from Italian horror mastermind Argento, originally released in butchered form in the US as UNSANE. Franciosa portrays Peter Neal, an American mystery novelist promoting his latest release in Rome. It's not long, however, until a killer is hot on his trail doing evil deeds which mimic those of the murderer in Neal's book. This very basic premise is executed in an exceedingly and beautifully stylized method which makes the film truly fascinating to watch. Those who do not like the sight of blood, however, should be forewarned -- it flows frequently, and in copious amounts. Though Matthew Broderick made it big in the 1980s playing cooler-than-cool Ferris Bueller, he's spent much of the 1990s and 2000s playing sad sacks, from ELECTION's Jim McCallister to THE STEPFORD WIVES' Walter Kresby. He continues that trend with the role of Taylor Peters in FINDING AMANDA. Taylor's luck as a TV writer is about to run out; his star, Ed Begley Jr. (playing himself), is unhappy with Taylor's unfunny scripts for his sitcom. Things at home aren't much better.
