Better Forever album
$5.99 The finest example of perfect disco pop, and a record that should be prescribed to musical snobs and manic depressives. The album is a true ambassador of what pop music can be. Jackson whoops and dances through a suite of unforgettable melodies that should be danced to with a smile on your face. Each ...
| | Slayer World Painted Blood CD (2009)
Better Forever CD music
$10.39 Of the "big four" original thrash bands (the other three being Metallica, Anthrax, and Megadeth), Slayer was the least compromising and most consistent. As such, 2009's WORLD PAINTED BLOOD recalled more than the title of Slayer's 1986 masterpiece REIGN ...

It's always a sign that a group is hot if they release a holiday album mere months after their debut. That's the case with *NSYNC. Their debut was released in America in late March, and in early December, Home for Christmas hit the shelves. Much of the album is devoted to newer material, ...
| | Elvis Presley ELV1S: 30 # 1 Hits CD (2002) Remastered
Better Forever songs
$10.39 Includes liner notes Peter Guralnick and Ernst Mikael Jorgensen.
Commemorating the 25th anniversary of Elvis Presley's death, 30 #1 HITS presents a career-spanning serving of the King's chart-toppers.
Dating back to "Heartbreak Hotel" (which was inspired by a suicide note printed in the Miami Herald), most of these cuts have become indelibly etched into the fabric of pop culture and each has a unique story behind it. "Love Me Tender" has its origins in the Civil War ballad "Aura Lee," "It's Now Or Never" found Elvis Americanizing the Neapolitan ballad "O Sole Mio," and "Wooden Heart" likewise was converted from a German children's song.
This Memphis native's choice of artists to cover was equally intriguing and includes Hollywood legend Al Jolson ("Are You Lonesome Tonight?"), New Orleans soul shouter Smiley Lewis ("One Night"), blues great Big Mama Thornton ("Hound Dog"), and country titan Hank Snow ("[Now And Then There's] A Fool Such As I"). Further testimony ...

Digitally remastered by George Horn (1995, Fantasy Studios, Berkeley, California).
Guided, perhaps, by musical snobbery or roots-rock phobia, some people inexplicably don't like Creedence Clearwater Revival. As the kings of earnest country-inflected rock in ...

| | Shake Some Action Live At The Crocodile CD (2007)
Better Forever album
$9.35 Recorded live at Seattle's legendary Crocodile Cafe on December 23, 2006 - just their third show - this live performance shows why Shake Some Action! has been steadily building a loyal fan base throughout 2007. Catchy pop songs with gorgeous harmonies and instantly hummable melodies, all performed with tremendous energy and enthusiasm. Add to that the incomparable talent of the Crocodile's live engineer Jim Anderson and you have a live recording that captures every nuance of the performance.Ironically, this was originally supposed to be Shake Some Action's final show. While recording the studio album as a solo project throughout 2006, songwriter James Hall met bassist Gary Miller and drummer Chris Campbell through their band, the Scheme. After both heard the songs that would become the SSA album and independently emailed Hall with an offer to play the songs live, he started thinking about creating a live band that would play 3 or 4 shows to promote the album, then quickly disband. At the same time Hall's former Jeunes bandmate David Bos heard the recordings - and also offered his services - and the lineup was complete, literally falling into place within a week. The band decided to record their 12/23/06 Crocodile show to document what they thought would be the live band's short-lived existence. Little did they know. . . Shortly after this performance Shake Some Action's studio album was released - immediately going into heavy rotation on Seattle's influential KEXP 90. 3 FM and receiving glowing reviews and strong sales across the globe. Suddenly receiving show offers that were too good to refuse - and after three months of heavy KEXP airplay - the band decided to keep things going. By June 2007 they found themselves booked to play Bumbershoot and writing songs for a follow up album. For those who weren't there back in late 2006, here is Shake Some Action! live at the Crocodile - a complete recording of the entire set from their 3rd show. As bassist Gary Miller recollects on the Seattle Powerpop Blog - "it sounds pretty cool -- full of jitters and beaming with a raw, what-the-hell-are-we-doing feeling."Here's what people are saying about ...
