| | Jacob Archer Urban Rain CD Jacob Archer Discography of CDs
Jacob Archer’s chill-out, make-you-want-to-have-a-glass-of-wine-and-put-your-feet-up music Album entitled "URBAN RAIN" is his first to be released and it is sure to be a hit as Archer is able to please the masses. “Jacob’s professionalism and talent continues to impress me as he shines as an extremely multifaceted musician who makes hit-quality production and composition look easy,” says 90210 Records Founder Jacci Deal. “Archer is unlimited as a musician and entertainer. He can compose every genre of music from easy listening and rock/alternative to R & B/ hip hop, techno and so much more. He is clearly a potential musical legend.”Archer has also impressed fellow artists who have sought him out for his very versatile talent. He has played electric and acoustic guitar with new age recording artist Ryan Farish. And as for Archer’s Urban Rain ? He describes it as “very instrumental. I use several layers of different synths - bass, percussion, piano…” The album’s title track, “Urban Rain,” massages the mind with a mellow piano rhythm and laid-back acoustic melody. “I composed the song and pictured myself looking out a window and watching the rain gently come down upon the city” Archer says. “It’s a relieving scene, like the city is being washed clean of all its busy activities so it can take it on again the next day. I decided to name my album after the title track because all my songs are essentially this way. It’s something you can listen to after a hard day’s work; to have some down time for yourself and relax before you have to wake up and go back to work again.”Archer plays mostly all the instruments in his music and is a true musician by all means. Born and raised in Riverton, Wyo., he first started playing tunes such as “Peter, Peter Pumpkin Eater” and “Mary Had a Little Lamb” on the family piano at the tender age of five and without a single piano lesson. He expanded his musical repertoire throughout grade school and college – playing the electric and acoustic guitar, drums and bass. He even worked his way around the Wyoming bar circuit as lead guitarist for his “Hoosier Daddy” but now retired rock band. After moving to Virginia, where he served in the U.S. Navy, married and moved into his wife’s apartment with a sea bag and (of course) a guitar, Archer decided to seriously pursue his musical talents and moved to California in 2005. Archer’s pitch-perfect ear and sharp engineering skills keeps his music sounding crystal clear and has only enhanced his unique sound. Listen closely to songs such as “K-2” and “Birds of Paradise” and you will hear digital sounds that seem to mimic nature’s natural sounds such as wind and birdsong. The music, composed by Archer in his West Hollywood home studio, is a mix of virtual instruments and his actual playing on the piano, drums and guitar. The intricate sounding melodies and carefully placed bass lines evoke just the right mood combination of reinvigoration and calmness. “A lot of people say that my music is very soothing and relaxing. It’s probably something that you’ll find at a spa,” Archer says.More than likely you have already heard Archer’s compositions. Songs such as "Message," "Journey Into the Unknown," "Birds of Paradise," and "Beyond the Horizon" – all from URBAN RAIN – have been playing on The Weather Channel’s Local on the 8’s program since November 2006 for people all over the world to hear. “I feel that all this hard work, all the risks I took to follow my dream to be a musician is finally beginning to pay off,” he says. “I’m very excited because my goal is to share my music with people of all ages and backgrounds.”He hopes that all those who listen to his music are also inspired to follow their dreams, whatever they may be, through life’s journeys. He adds that many of his songs take his listeners to the beautiful and inspiring places he has been. “From the open s Urban Rain Music | Category | New Age Albums | | Label | CD Baby | | CD Universe Part number | 7644816 | | Catalog number | 182061 | | Discs | 1 | | Release Date | Feb 12, 2008 |

Urban Rain album
$15.19 In the late 1960s and early '70s, the British budget label Saga recorded numerous albums designed to cash in on U.K. pop/rock-psychedelic trends. The LPs were quickie exploitation jobs, but as is often the case with such productions, some reasonably genuine stuff couldn't help sneaking through and finding status among serious '60s collectors decades later. This quite unusual compilation gathers 25 tracks that were scattered across numerous Saga releases, the common denominator being that all of them were plugged into British mod rock and psychedelia to some degree. It almost goes without saying that none of these songs were hits, and that very few of them are known even to veteran British '60s collectors, though some might be familiar with the Five Day Week Straw People, the Magic Mixture, and the Blackbirds (the last actually a German group whose material Saga managed to issue for the U.K. market). A few recognizable musicians do pop up here and there, even if the culprits most likely wouldn't mind having these relics buried deep within their rsums, including Mungo Jerry's Ray Dorset (here part of Good Earth), future Fairport Convention bassist Dave Pegg (as part of the Dave Peace Quartet), and original Fleetwood Mac bassist Bob Brunning (as part of Five's Company). ...

Urban Rain songs
$18.99 Jonathan Edwards was born in Minnesota and played his first music on piano, taking a few lessons from the lady who lived next door and then learning by ear.He picked up guitar in high school in the early 60s. "I started on a $29 guitar and immediately started putting a band together, writing songs and learning all the contemporary folk songs of the time", he recalls. "I just loved it, loved everything about it, loved being in front of people playing music."He studied art in college but continued to play music. "I started getting electric about the time Dylan did, doing electric folk music. I joined bands by saying 'Can I be in your band?', and they'd ask, 'What do you play?', and I'd say 'What do you need?' I'm still that way. I still love to play different instruments. It helps me understand production techniques and performance capabilities". Instead of graduating from college, he decided to give music a shot. He sold the car that his father was lending him, bought a van for his band, and headed for the music scene in Boston. The band soon found work, playing "6-40" jobs--six 40-minute sets per night--all over New England. They played cover tunes as well as their own country blues originals under various names, including the Headstone Circus, St. James Doorknob, and the Finite Minds, and they made an album for Metromedia Records as Sugar Creek. After several years, Jonathan began to tire of the 6-40s and grew fonder of the sound of an acoustic guitar. "I just one night said, 'Hey fellas, this isn't sounding as good as it could, and I'd like us to sound more intimate'. I liked the sound of bronze strings on rosewood better than steel strings on magnets, and so I walked out of that club in Vermont, rented myself a van and PA system, and started traveling around ...
