Born in Eugene, Oregon, Cat got her first guitar at 8 years old and began playing piano and writing songs at age 9. By the age of 14 she was playing guitar professionally and toured the country playing her original music, and by 18 she was recording professionally in the studio. It wasn’t long afterwards when she moved to the San Francisco Bay Area where she played bass, guitar and keyboard for many Bay Area artists, including Bob Weir.Cat’s true love is the guitar, and has been influenced by the best: Jimmy Page, David Gilmore, Jimmy Hendrix, George Harrison, and “especially my own guitarist who is truly one of the best; Jon Mulvey.”Recordings.All of Cat’s recent music is released on her own Catastrophe Music label that she founded with her business partner and band mate Jon Mulvey (as well as their previous label, Catapult Records).
