| | Andy Kostek One By One CD Andy Kostek Discography of CDs
Andy has been playing in various bands for around 20 years, in venues ranging from the smallest café bars to major fairs, Back in the early 90's Andy gave music a rest to study for his career, but missing it so much jumped back in playing with a few local bands doing the pub rounds, in the south of England. Andy most enjoyed the smaller more close venues where the audience where practically on the stage, "not only a lot of fun, but you really connect with the audience" he quotes. Having played many covers ranging across genres such as heavy rock, punk, MOR just about anything from Pink Floyd to Van Halen, help Andy craft his passion. Andy's main influences come from his heroes, Gary Moore, Mark Knofler, and Dave Gilmore. Others of his personal favourites are Damien Rice album, Avril, Puddle of Mud, Jimmy Eats World, Hoobastank, Sting, He could go on and on, and in his own words there are really far too many to list! Andy worked on his CD through 07' enjoying the creative atmosphere and ambiance of Crosshaven in Ireland where he has recently been working. Purchase One By One CD To buy, Click on price to add to cart | Susan Boyle I Dreamed A Dream CD (2009)
One By One album
$9.58 Susan Boyle's grand unveiling on Britain's Got Talent was with a song from Les Miserables - the very song that lends this album its title -- and if she could become an international sensation based on a show tune standard, there's no reason for her to change her approach on her debut, since that's the sound that made her a star. Plus, a large part of Boyle's appeal is that she's a middle-aged woman recalling a bygone era when there were singers that appealed to an adult audience by offering soft, stately versions of pop hits and standards. That time was the late `60s and early `70s, and apart from a rather faithful version of Madonna's "You'll See," I Dreamed a Dream could very well have been released all those years ago, ...
| | Jimmy Buffett Buffet Hotel CD (2009)
One By One CD music
$9.74 Since Jimmy Buffett never leaves his comfort zone, it's hard to call 2009's Buffet Hotel a return to roots but, in a way, it is. Discounting the mock rap on "Turn Up the Heat and Chill the Rosé," this album doesn't even have the lingering country and reggae flavors that seasoned 2006's Take the Weather with You, with all of the songs riding a cool, mellow country-rock wave, the kind that has been his stock-in-trade since the `70s. There's a difference between being part of a tradition and being stuck in the past and Buffett is surely ...
| | Mark Knopfler Get Lucky CD (2009)
One By One music CDs
$15.65 With the release of GET LUCKY, Mark Knopfler has made as many solo studio albums as he made group studio albums with Dire Straits, which itself may be a signal that it's time to stop comparing his two careers and simply accept them as separate entities. Of course, since Knopfler was the lead singer, chief instrumentalist, and songwriter ...
| | Lady Gaga Fame Monster CD (2009)
One By One songs
$8.79 Initially planned solely as a standard double-disc reissue in the wake of the blockbuster success of The Fame, Lady Gaga decided to release the new material as a separate EP called The Fame Monster in addition to the standard two-CD set, where it's tacked onto a now standardized version of her debut. It's a nice move for fans, plus it helps emphasize the new material, which does act as a bridge from the debut to a forthcoming full-length. Everything on The Fame Monster bears a galvanized Eurotrash finish, as evident on the heavy steel synths of "Bad Romance" and the updated ABBA revision "Alejandro," as it is on the rock & roll ballad "Speechless" -- its big guitars lifted from Noel Gallagher -- and the ...

| | Byrds Very Best Of CD (2006) Remastered
One By One songs
$9.79 The two dozen tracks on this single-disc survey of the Byrds include all the obvious singles like "Mr. Tambourine Man," "Turn! Turn! Turn!," and "Eight Miles High" as well as some key album tracks like Gram Parsons' lovely "Hickory Wind" and the unsung psychedelic gem "I See You," making this an OK, if somewhat random, survey of an interesting and influential pop band. ~ Steve Leggett
Although they are every bit as influential as fellow 1960s innovators the Beatles and the Beach Boys, compilations of classic material by the Byrds have been less frequent. When they have popped up, these albums have tended to focus on specific periods and rarely attempted a definitive retrospective. However, this welcome compilation from the British arm of Columbia Records remedies those problems by collecting a top-shelf array of material from the group's Columbia recordings on a single, comprehensive disc. From early folk-rock hits like "Mr. Tambourine Man" to the Indian-flavored psychedelia of "Eight Miles High" to the mellow country stylings of "Ballad of Easy Rider," all of the group's trendsetting hits are covered. These obvious choices are counterbalanced with the kind of album track favorites that the group's fans adored: notable picks include "Hickory Wind," a wistful slice of country-pop from the pen of Gram Parsons, and "Wasn't Born to Follow," the psychedelic country-rock classic that is best known for its appearance on the soundtrack of Easy Rider. The compilers of The Very Best of the Byrds also added a nice touch by including the original liner notes from the 1967 The Byrds Greatest Hits album. These notes lend an interesting perspective on how seriously the tastemakers ...
