Billy was born in East St. Louis on December 11th 1959 into a musicial family. His mother played the organ and piano, and his father sang in the choir, for the Dupo 1st Bapist Church. He started guitar at the age of 9, and also played trumpet in grade and high school. After seeing Andreas Segovia and Joe Pass in his senior year, Billy decided to study jazz and classical gutiar at SIU Edwardsville Ill. Following college, he joined Street Corner Symphony- a touring band from the midwest. Twelve years later, he started his own band. Billy has opened up for, or shared the stage with many artists. They range from: Roy Orbison , Junior Wells, the John Scofield band, R.L.Burnside, Victor Wooten,Yngwie Malmsteen, Billy Corigan, The Rippingtons, Chuck Berry, Johnnie Johnson, Robert Randolph, Eric Gales, Jumping Johnny Sansone, and Bugs Henderson, to name a few. Currently, Billy teaches guitar and retails at a local guitar shop (Gravity strings)and plays in various bands in St. Louis(His original band, The Movers, and the Smash Band). His guitar talents have been used by several independent cds, and has been used in MTV's Road rules and Let's Make a Band. Most recently,Billy was an instructor for Camp Jam with Jeff Carlisi from (38 special) and Deric St.Holmes of (Ted Nugant) Faith In You is my 7th release. It has my steady mix of styles, and was recorded in a 100 year old church.also dedicated 3 songs for,friends R.L.Burnside, Shawn Lane and local leagend beatle bob. Since 1969, the band has consistently delivered solid albums of no-nonsense hard rock, occasionally dipping into space rock, AOR, and metal along the way.
