| | Andrew Weatherall Watch The Ride CD Andrew Weatherall Discography of CDs
Watch The Ride is Harmless' DJ mix series which features the best up and coming and established DJ talent the UK, Europe and the rest of the World has to offer. Andrew Weatherall's history goes back far to the beginning of the British Acid House scene having swung gigs for himself at Danny Rampling's legendary Shoom night off the back of the sort of sounds recently showcased on Andrew's compilation for Nuphonic entitled 9 O'Clock Drop. It was through Primal Scream though that Andrew first made his name. As the producer of Screamadelica he took The Primals, twisted them (best not to ask how) and in turn created the hybrid of narcotically challenged Rock and Acid House now seen as a generation-defining release. This compilation features 16 tracks including cuts from The Black Lips, Silver Apples, Maximum Joy, Simian Mobil Disco and many others. Harmless. 2008.
DJ: Andrew Weatherall.Q (Magazine) (p.125) - "[A] beautifully weighted addition to this mix series, marrying laid-back dub cuts with Eurodisco, electro-pop adn techno." Clash (magazine) (p.114) - "WATCH THE RIDE's continuous spewing of fresh and current DJ compilations continues, whilst Weatherall's skills, ideas and ear for tunes reminds us how to keep it freshly innovative." Record Collector (magazine) (p.100) - 5 stars out of 5 -- "The churning, spaghetti-dub electro-punk joyride reaches a heavenly peak with Saturn 5's 'Oscillation'..." Watch The Ride album
$8.49 In addition to energized versions of such treasured Christmas songs as "Go Tell It on the Mountain" and "Silent Night," Franklin & the Family contribute several non-traditional songs that explore the depth of God's love and the Christian basis for the holiday. "Now Behold the Lamb," for example, is a ballad that testifies to the truth of salvation, and features stirring ensemble singing, strong solo vocalists, and plenty of enthusiastic exclamations. The deeply funky "Jesus Is the Reason for the Season" kicks things up a notch with its bumping rhythm and infectious chorus. With its mix of old and new musical styles and its impassioned performances, CHRISTMAS is sure to please those looking for a meaningful ...

| | Chemical Brothers Live At The Social, Vol. 1 CD (1996) Import
Watch The Ride music CDs
$12.79 This 1997 collection features songs by the likes of Meat Beat Manifesto and Crooklyn Clan as mixed by U.K. DJs the Chemical Brothers.
A handful of musicians always seem to be a few steps ahead of the culture they love. Take the Chemical Brothers: when they DJ'd in Ibiza a few years into their career, they once made the loved-up, Balearic clubbers start to cry by simply not playing house music. It's likely that if any of those clubbers got a chance to hear Live at the Social, Vol. 1 they'd probably be an absolute wreck. Because this mix effort (the band's actual debut mix album) is a varied, monstrous collection of dirty beats and undeniable good times. So open-minded dance fans will rejoice. Truly, the center point of the album nearly says it all. As the Chemical Brothers fade from the trumpeting blare of Red Snapper's hip-hop to what sounds like mythical sirens of some parallel digital age (in fact a blend into the band's Lionrock remix), there is little doubt that this is not a run-of-the-mill mix effort. The whole experience feels thunderous. It helps that the Chemical Brothers consistently break out of their genre stereotypes. Although they get the credit -- and blame -- for "inventing" ...
