Framing Armageddon: Something Wicked, Pt. 1 album for sale Product Description
Framing Armageddon: Something Wicked, Pt. 1 album for sale by Iced Earth was released Oct 07, 2008 on the SPV label. With 2007's FRAMING ARMAGEDDON: SOMETHING WICKED PT.1, the Floridian power-metal ensemble Iced Earth unveils one of its most ambitious outings. A concept album about an epic world-shaping struggle between humans and beings called "Setians," FRAMING ARMAGEDDON finds vocalist Tim Owens, formerly of Judas Priest, fully in synch with guitarist and group mastermind Jon Schaffer as they spin fantastic tales with operatic energy, as exemplified by the fierce anthem "Ten Thousand Strong." Headbangers, take heed--it's hard to get more "metal" than this.

| The problem isn't the vocals. This is a dissapointing cd. I agree with The Crazed Viking, it sounds like dis-organized chaos. I own most of their stuff, and expect more. Tim is not a hack. Yes he took Halfords place in Priest, but if you can't tell the difference in the two guys, well.... Sometimes vocals are lacking, because you can only do so much with the music you're given. Even Matt couldn't help this one. By odinscross69 (Raleigh, NC) This review is for a different format. |
| Disappointing. I've come to expect quite a bit from Iced Earth. Jon can write amazing music, and has made many great albums. I will always support Iced Earth. That said, i don't like this album. The music seems unorganized, and has no "direction". I like Tim Owens as a vocalist, but i see Matt Barlow is coming back to Iced Earth. Hopefully the 2nd part of Framing Armageddon is better. | A change, but still great I thought this whole album was great. It starts off with an instrumental before pounding into some heavy riffs and before you know it you cant control yourself - your headbanging away... Anwayz for any previous IE fan who is thinking on getting this keep in mind this was recorded with a different singer (Tim "The Ripper" Owens instead of Matt Barlow)and they have different singing styles and sounds. Tim has a higher pitch while Matt is more of a baratone, so if your used to Matt this album will sound wierd at first but as you listen to it more and more you realise that this is still IE minus Matt's voice. The album has great songs that stay with you (like ten thousand strong and something wiked pt 1) cant wait for part 2 of this cd By Ryan (Lakeshire) This review is for a different format. |
| My Review Now, this album is the second, I believe, with Tim Owens. I personally like the album but there are obviously people who are gonna say "Tim sucks, Barlow's Better" among other needless opinions. But Tim with the band is OK but the thing is I like Barlow a little more only because he doesn't sound like Rob Halford. But other than that, it's a good album By geoffreycoran (Winnipeg, MB, CA) This review is for a different format. |
| Classic I have to say that this is a great album, they had really taken a big step forward in the song writing, unlike most fans I really like Tim Owens vocals, and really think that has opened the door to being much more creative..
