Purchase Lockjaw CD To buy, Click on price to add to cart | Black Eyed Peas E.N.D. (The Energy Never Dies) CD (2009)
Lockjaw album
$9.99 Black Eyed Peas, the hip-hop crossover juggernaut that propelled singer Fergie and producer Will.I.Am to superstardom, have, since 2003's ELEPHUNK, been audaciously plugging away at their bombastic but lighthearted style of rap-cum-dance pop--an effort that has translated to a run of successful chart-topping singles including "My Humps," "Pump It," and "Don't Phunk with My Heart." Eager to follow up on the platinum-selling success of 2005's MONKEY BUSINESS, Black Eyed Peas have returned with THE E.N.D. (an acronym for "Energy Never Dies"), their third studio effort. Combining Will.I.Am's thumping 808 kick drum-infused beats with production assistance from a host of collaborators (including vocoder-loving Torontoians MSTRKRFT and French house veteran David Guetta), BEP's infectious party-time rhymes are an easy match for the album's Ed Banger-style of electro rapping and Auto Tune jamming, especially on lead-off single and sure-fire 2009 summer anthem "Boom Boom Pow."

| | Anthony Hamilton Point Of It All CD (2008)
Lockjaw CD music
$8.99 Not simply a crooner with a great voice, Anthony Hamilton is also a multi-talented songwriter, arranger, and producer in the tradition of visionary, self-directed artists like Donny Hathaway, Bill Withers, and Curtis Mayfield. THE POINT OF IT ALL is the North Carolina native's fourth proper full-length and it finds Hamilton comfortably ensconced in the same blend of organic instrumental textures, preprogrammed drum loops, and warm `70s soul signifiers that served him so well on 2005's AIN'T NOBODY WORRYIN'. The album's lead single, "Cool," is propelled by a deep bass-drum thump, supplemented by bright guitar arpeggios, an understated Fender Rhodes riff, and layer after layer of Hamilton's skillfully interwoven vocal tracks. The ...

| | Very Best Of Otis Redding CD (1992)
Lockjaw songs
$7.79 It is impossible to overrate Otis Redding. This Rhino compilation, while in no way comprehensive, is nonetheless an outstanding sampler of songs by one of soul music's all-time titans. There's not a dud among these 16 songs, and some, like "These Arms Of Mine," "(Sittin' On) The Dock Of The Bay," and "Try A Little Tenderness," rank among the greatest pop songs ever recorded.
Redding's performances are mesmerizing and seem to embody the perfect balance between acute sensitivity and sheer overwhelming emotional strength. The combination of Redding's magnetism and the quality of such songs as "Mr. Pitiful," "I Can't Turn You Loose," and "Respect" is almost too good to be true. The album's only ...
| | 2 Live Crew As Nasty As They Wanna Be CD (1989)
Lockjaw album
$13.39 With its 1989 landmark album, 2 Live Crew practically single-handedly created the CD parental advisory seal and irreversibly changed the hip-hop landscape. Long before AS NASTY AS THEY WANNA BE, 2 Live Crew were drawing lawsuits and boycotts, and within the opening minute of "Me So Horny," the opening track and single, the group made it clear that, far from backing down, they were ready to push the envelope even further. Like FULL METAL JACKET, the Kubrick film from which it gets its name and central sample, the song is a massive frontal assault, a flurry of sexuality backed by an unforgettable beat. The song improbably broke into the US top 40, the album sold millions, record store clerks were arrested, an indecency case made it just shy of the Supreme Court, and a legend was born. ...

| | Rodney Stewart The Best Of Me - Elements Of Worship CD (2009)
Lockjaw CD music
$13.15 My mother was married to a preacher. She's also the daughter of a preacher, so it's fair to say she knew something about worship and the whole church experience. Surely it's no surprise her children became intimately familiar with all the elements that made up a worship service. Spending as much time in church as we did, we quickly learned the format. Though the order of service was mostly scripted, it did have an unexpected wrinkle from time to time. There was the rambling testimony from a not quite sobered up choir member or the tone deaf deacon taking off on a song in "Z" sharp that no one else seemed to know. Can you imagine having to hold in a gut-busting laugh because you didn't want to experience momma's familiar "pinch" that left that body part sore for days?! At any rate, this seemed like a good blueprint for putting this album together. Any good service begins with praise and worship and then works it's way through prayer and testimony, then ultimately, the message. Now you know the service isn't complete until the preacher extends the invitation and "opens the doors" of the church. "Come to Jesus...just as you are!" We've all heard that plea and through squinted eyes that were supposed to be closed in prayer, we sneaked peeks to see if anyone would walk down the aisle. Well…it's my sincere ...
