Closed Captioned; Additional Footage; Soundtrack English; Soundtrack Spanish; English Subtitles; Dolby Digital 5.1 Re Tyler Perry (MADEA'S FAMILY REUNION) delivers another of his deliciously soapy tales of loyalty, betrayal, passion, and redemption amongst African Americans, this time playing across two Atlanta families, one of whom is white. Kathy Bates co-stars as southern business clan matriarch Charlotte Cartwright, whose lifelong friendship with Alice Pratt (Alfre Woodard) has led to prosperity for both their families. But Charlotte's evil son, William (Cole Hauser), is getting mixed up with Alice's unscrupulous daughter, Andrea (Sanaa Lathan), while her husband (Rockmond Dunbar) stays willingly blind in order to get William's help with his construction business. Perry himself plays the good son-in-law struggling with good wife Pam (Taraji P. Henson) to avoid going down with the ship as resulting skeleton-packed closets explode all over Atlanta. Played out in Perry's patented blend of tearful pathos, sexy snarkiness, moral uplift, and sly humor, this feels culled straight from the pages of a juicy beach novel, in the best of ways. The acting is uniformly ripe, with Hauser brilliantly sleazy, Lathan enjoyably difficult, and lots of old-fashioned "you go girl" charm and grace from veteran thespians Bates and Woodard, who go on an old-school road trip to work things out. The neo-soul soundrack includes songs from Jill Scott and Janet Jackson. Tyler Perry's The Family That Preys Reviews: "The best thing about TYLER PERRY'S THE FAMILY THAT PREYS is the opportunity it affords to watch a pair of veteran actresses still at the top of their game. Level for School Education I love the movie. I cried, and cried.
It reminded me of myself and family. I am a mother of 4,educating my children , and helping raised 4 grandchildren, which one of them are at their last year in college, and now starting on the great generation. I was raised in a little town named Paris, Tennessee. All I could do was cry, so very hard for me, but I keep the faith.
The movie is a must for every woman to see and family. It will inspire the young ladies to be honest, work and focus. Always being respectful.
I do feel that the movie should be put in an area of material (reading book) to be read in the schools and be counted as a grade.
The movie is outstanding.
Every movie Tyler Perrys makes, get great and greater.
Thank you Tyler Pery for those wonderful and inspiring movies.

It brought me to tears... I love, love, love (did I say LOVE!!) Tyler Perry!! I have just about all of the plays/movies that this man has done! He is very inspiring to those (I feel) that watch his works and get the various messages that are sent. He makes you dig deep within yourself and think about the realness of life and love. This movie had friendship between two races, relationship between two races and deciet between two families. I personally can't wait for the soundtrack!! THIS is a MUST SEE not to mention a MUST HAVE in your movie collection. If you haven't seen it, you'll be glad you did!! Submitted by secylegs1 (Chicago) Was This Review Helpful? Tyler Perry's The Family That Preys movie DVD
$19.55 When notable narrative director Scott Hicks (SHINE, SNOW FALLING ON CEDARS) picked up an HD camera to shoot some footage of celebrated composer Philip Glass, he had no intention of turning it into a feature-length documentary. Yet after capturing so much insightful footage and realizing that Glass and his family and friends were up to the task, that is exactly what happened. With GLASS: A PORTRAIT OF PHILIP IN TWELVE PARTS, Hicks has delivered an intimate, illuminating glimpse into the life of one of America's most fascinating artists. The film's present-day footage follows Glass as he works on his Eighth Symphony and also prepares to present the operatic spectacle BARBARIANS AT THE GATE. But his current duties don't stop there. He's also busy scoring Woody Allen's CASSANDRA'S DREAM in addition to several more films. Glass is an obsessive workaholic who takes his work with him even when he goes on vacation (to the disappointment of his third wife, Holly, who expresses her feelings in one of the film's ...

Tyler Perry's The Family That Preys video
$9.05 Best known for his horror classics RE-ANIMATOR (1985), FROM BEYOND (1986), and DOLLS (1987), director Stuart Gordon turned to character-driven thrillers in the early 2000s with KING OF THE ANTS (2003) and EDMOND (2005). STUCK continues in that vein, exploring humankind's potential for cruelty toward one another. Inspired by real events, this is a bloody and disturbing revenge film with a pitch-black sense of humor and a handful of fine performances. Tom Bardo (Stephen Rea) is having a bad Friday. He's out of work and preparing for an interview at the employment agency when he is suddenly evicted from apartment. A computer glitch then causes him to spend the entire day waiting for his interview, then is turned away. With nowhere left to go, he finds himself sleeping on a park bench, only to be rousted by a cop. Enter Brandi (Mena Suvari), a corn-rowed nursing assistant heading home after a night of partying. Talking on the phone and driving under the influence, Brandi hits Tom, sending him crashing halfway through ...
