Everybody Needs Somebody Sometimes album
$10.09 Broadcast's music has always been a little unearthly, so BROADCAST & THE FOCUS GROUP INVESTIGATE WITCH CULTS OF THE RADIO AGE isn't so much a departure as it is an inspired homage to their influences. VALERIE AND HER WEEK OF WONDERS and its alternately innocent and menacing soundtrack inspired the band years before the movie was rediscovered. The whimsy and strangely familiar feel of '60s and '70s library music could also be heard in their music from the beginning, but never more clearly than on this ...

| | Hoodska Explosive Misleading CD (2008)
Everybody Needs Somebody Sometimes CD music
$18.19 CD Notes-"The Misleading" represents two chapters in the Hoodska chronicle and so it is devided into two CD's - SessionI - was recorded in 2006 when the band acted mainly as a club band, playing original songs in festivals and venues and making party people dance. originally it was supposed to be released in the summer of 2007, but in the beginning of 2007 the Hoodska started playing an acoustic Instrumental show every Friday morning in an Arts and Crafts market in Tel-Aviv. in this new surrounding they still made the audiance dance but this time the audiance was normal everyday people. the Hoodska played lots of ska oldies (mainly by the skatalites) and pretty soon wrote a lot of original instrumental material of their own. a regular audience was building up in both club and street scene and so the band decided to record another session of some of their new instrumental music - SessionII. SessionI, recorded and mixed by Gad Baruch at Fazilogic studios 2006. SessionII, recorded and mixed (analog) by Uri "Mixmonster" verthaim in a secret underground cave, 2007.Mastered in West West Side Music (NYC) by Alan Douches.Biography- In the summer of 2,004, lead singer and bass-player Haggai Zehavi was offered a deal by a friend tattooist – to write him a song in exchange for a tattoo – an offer you can’t refuse! Out of that challenge grew the HoodSka Explosive, and 3 years later the song “Skin Ink in Ska” is the opener of the band’s 2-cd debut album – “The Misleading”.After the song was written there was a need for a group. 2 friend musicians - Yoav Elkayam (percussions) and Ido blaustein (drums) were also into playing ska, and the three started gathering musicians who were into playing on a weekly basis - Eyal laserovich (keyboards), Yotam Troim (trumpet) and guitarists and sax players who came and went like socks do. For nearly a year the band spent it’s time on writing songs and playing old ska hits (mainly by The Skatalites), trying to figure out how to play ska traditionally. Things went on like this, ...
| | Matt Romero Us Versus Them CD (2008)
Everybody Needs Somebody Sometimes music CDs
$6.39 Listen to 35 songs from Matt Romerohttp://www.purevolume.com/mattromeroBIO: Singer/songwriter/producer Matt Romero began writing and recording music in the winter of 1999 right after High School. Originally inspired by 90's alternative acts such as Nine Inch Nails and Stone Temple Pilots, Matt found his sound with his acoustic guitar. After recording his first 4-track demo that same year he started he dubbed the project Us Versus Them. Intended to be a full-fledged rock band but at the time did not come to be. What happened next was a long journey of self-producing several ecelectic solo albums yet always under the name Us Versus Them and cutting his teeth live playing open mics around Amherst, MA. In late 2005 UVT had an actual band lineup started and at the same time producer Matt Russell took keen interest in UVT's 2003 album New Mourning. He offered to produce a studio EP version of New Mourning at the famed Studio A at Q-Division. Matt jumped at the opportunity to finally record at a real studio. It was titled and promoted as Us Versus Them's debut EP, however in reality it was really UVT as Matt Romero solo backed by a studio band. In 2006 the EP got lost in the shuffle of UVT's ever changing sound but not before getting rave reviews from critics. Fast forward to early 2007 Us Versus Them changed yet again but this time with a full-lineup that has been going solid into 2008. The band is a metal/rock act with Matt now as the frontman along with Phoebe Danskin on bass, Rich Noe and Vaz Curpen on guitars and a revolving door of drummers (as of Jan.08). Wait...so what happened to UVT as Matt's solo project and all those albums he wrote beloved by many before changing styles to Metal? Well after getting a call from Matt Russell 3 years since the duo worked together, Matt Romero decided to finally give his own music a second life and in reality since it was just him it would fair to release under his own name and finally depart from the UVT brand leaving it as the Metal band it is now. So while working with the band Us Versus Them, Matt has officialy released his first solo album previously under the Us Versus Them brand and titled it back to New Mourning EP (unofficially for now) under his name. This is the same EP recorded with Matt Russell in 2005 and is finally now available to purchase in 2008!! No plans are made as of yet to have Matt go on the road with a studio band to promote his solo music and the EP. But it will be moving forward in terms of online promoting. Matt and Matt the songwriting/producing duo do plan on working together again as they have gained a solid working relationship and friendship after all this time. *updated 2/13/08*CREDITS: produced, engineered and mixed by matt russell | mastered by tom polce | recorded at q division, somerville, ma and warp factor one, boston, ma by matt russell | q sessions assisted by mark bates | all songs written by matt romero | vocals, programming - matt romero | drums, percussion, additional strings and keyboards - matt russell | wurlitzer - tom boehling | bass - tom polce | guest vocals on instant satisfaction - ruth peterson from the band ruth | guitar ...
