HIS BROTHERS HAVE PLAYED FIDDLE FOR TENNESSEE ERNIE FORD AND MEL TILLIS.JOHN ENLISTED FOR WW II AT 17 AND SAW MUCH ACTION IN THE PACIFIC THEATER, CULMINATING IN THE ASSAULT AT IWO JIMA, WHERE JONH WAS PRESENT FOR THE FAMOUS FLAG RAISING.JOHN HAS PLAYED WITH OR OPENED FOR FARON YOUNG, LITTLE JIMMY DICKENS, CONNIE SMITH, BOB HOPE, COWBOY DAN DURANT, AND HERB ELLIS. HE LED THE JOHN JUSTUS TRIO FOR 30 YEARS IN TOLEDO, OHIO (COUNTRY CLUB DANCE BAND), WHERE HE PLAYED GUITAR. HE ALSO CONTINUES TO TEACH GUITAR, FIDDLE AND TUNE PIANOS.
