Two for the Show album for sale Product Description

Two for the Show album for sale by Kansas was released Jul 01, 2008 on the Legacy label. By the late '70s, Kansas had not only established themselves as one of America's most adventurous progressive rock bands; they even had a number of Top 20 hits to their credit. Two for the Show songs And as they finally paused for a breath after a string of five increasingly successful studio albums, it made perfect sense to fill the gap with a live album. Originally released as a double-vinyl set, Two for the Show is a sprawling, mind-boggling affair that juggles such epics as "Journey from Mariabronn" and the self-explanatory "Magnum Opus" (both of which will undoubtedly thrill fanatics with their extended improvisations) with mandatory hit singles "Carry on Wayward Son" and "Dust in the Wind." ~ Eduardo Rivadavia 2 LPs on 1 CD. Two for the Show CD music is a 2-disc set with 35 songs.   ...See Full Description

Simply the best!
This album rocks. The second disc is worth the full price! Heck Child of Innocence alone is worth the price! The remastering makes the album come alive.

Finally a live album reissued right!!!!!
This has to best one of the best Live album reissues I've ever heard... instead of adding a measly 1 or 2 two songs they've seemed to have added the whole setlist and made a great 74 live album a monster 2 1/2 hour killer live testament... to me some of the songs they left off the original are better than some of the tunes that originally made the cut... the musicianship is flawless for a real live album with absolutely no overdubs (how all live albums should be).

I´m listening this album and my mind blows: many memories come to me, when I had the original album (2 LP), first CD edition (without Closet Chronicles) ... but this is ... I don´t have words to say ....

Two for the Show songs Recorded on a simple 12-track recorder as a demo, it was so good that the record company released it. Tom Scholz masterminded the project in his spare time; little did he know that this record came to define AOR, and would become a hi-fi store standard demo disc. Since that time, this record-breaking debut has sold 15 million copies in its homeland. Sholtz put so much effort into making it, he has managed only three further records in 22 years. "More Than A Feeling" still chills in a corny sort of way and the harmonies are pretty impressive. Recorded at Foxglove Studios, Watertown, Massachusetts; Capitol Studios, Hollywood, California; The Record Plant, Los Angeles, California between 1975 and 1976. Boston: Brad Delp (vocals); Tom Scholz (guitar, bass guitar); Barry Goudreau (guitar); Fran Sheehan (bass guitar); Sib Hashian (drums). Two for the Show buy CD music It was widely assumed that when vocalist/songwriter Jon Anderson left Yes at the end of the '70s, the band was doomed. Most folks forgot that bassist/composer Chris Squire was the other founding member of the band, and he had as much to do with their sound as Anderson. It was surprising enough when the band decided to continue with a new vocalist and keyboardist. It was even more surprising when the new members turned out to be Trevor Horn (later a famed pop producer) and Geoff Downes (who would soon depart with Steve Howe for Asia). And it was downright shocking when the resultant album DRAMA turned out to be a great one. While Horn's voice is in the same general range as Anderson's, he tends to blend more with the vocals of Howe and Squire for a distinctive three-part harmony sound. Similarly, the individual instrumental statements of Howe and Downes avoid grandstanding in favor of the group dynamic. Consequently, DRAMA is one of Yes' most direct, concise offerings, full of relatively short songs that still maintain all the Yes hallmarks. Anderson diehards should leave their inhibitions at the door. No Wakeman or Anderson on this 1980 LP, which still hit #18! This hard-rocker featuring Tempus Fugit now has 10 bonus cuts including unissued single versions and tracking sessions. Includes ten bonus tracks. Recorded at the Town House, London, England. Originally released on Atlantic (16019). Yes: Trevor Horn (vocals, bass); Steve Howe (guitar, background vocals); Chris Squire (piano, bass, background vocals); Geoff Downes (keyboards, sound effects); Alan White (drums, background vocals). Two for the Show album for sale In the five years since their last full studio album, a covers EP (2004's FEEDBACK) and two live releases (2003's RUSH IN RIO and 2005's R30) hardly sated the throngs of Rush fans hungry for new music. SNAKES & ARROWS is all they could have possibly hoped for and dreamed about. The brash, contemporary vibe of 2002's VAPOR TRAILS has been shed as the trio returns to the polished production and complex arrangements of their most beloved works. Woven into the later-era Rush song stylings are no less than three instrumentals: "The Main Monkey Business" (a hard rocking full-band workout), "Hope" (a solo acoustic guitar piece written and performed by Alex Lifeson), and the humorously titled "Malignant Narcissism" (featuring Geddy Lee's riffy, fretless electric bass and Neil Peart's tasty drum breaks). Keyboards are few and far between on SNAKES & ARROWS, with erstwhile Geddy Lee collaborator Ben Mink contributing strings. Peart's lyrics remain cerebral and poetic--challenging conventional spirituality ("Faithless" and "Armour & Sword"), examining the often troubled nature of mankind ("The Way The Wind Blows" and "The Larger Bowl") and the frailties of communication ("Spindrift" and "Good News First"). All the elements of classic Rush are here, making perhaps the band's finest late-career statement. Audio Mixers: Nick Raskulinecz; Richard Chycki. Recording information: Allaire Studios, Shokan, NY (11/2006-12/2006); Grandmaster Recorders, Hollywood, CA (11/2006-12/2006). Illustrators: George Eastman; Hugh Syme; Andrew MacNaughtan. Photographer: Andrew MacNaughtan. Arrangers: Rush; Nick Raskulinecz. Rush: Alex Lifeson (guitar); Geddy Lee, Neil Peart. Personnel: Geddy Lee (vocals, Mellotron, bass guitar); Alex Lifeson (acoustic guitar, acoustic 12-string guitar, electric guitar, electric 12-string guitar, bouzouki, mandola, mandolin); Ben Mink (strings); Neil Peart (drums, cymbals, tambourine, electronic percussion).

Two for the Show CD music The high point of Kansas's long career, 1977's POINT OF KNOW RETURN found the American heartlanders finally striking the perfect balance between complex prog-rock, hard-hitting heavy guitar work, and crafty pop sensibilities. This is perhaps best exemplified by the title cut, a sparkling tune full of jaunty interaction between piano and violin that moves unerringly through some tricky musical maneuvers, while remaining engagingly catchy and accessible. The electrifying riffs that fly around in "Lightning's Hand" and "The Spider" show that the knack for tunes like the previous album's classic "Carry On Wayward Son" had not deserted Kansas. At the same time, thoughtful (but not saccharine) ballads such as "Dust in the Wind" and "Hopelessly Human" make it clear that there was more than flash to the band. Nevertheless, there's honestly impressive flash aplenty to be found here in Kansas's finest hour. All tracks have been digitally remastered. + 2 Bonus Tracks Recorded at Woodland Sound, Nashville, Tennessee and Studio In The Country, Bogalusa, Louisiana in 1977. Includes liner notes by Jeff Glixman. Reissue producers: Jeff Glixman, Jeff Magid. Engineers: Jeff Glixman, Terry Diane Baker. Two for the Show buy CD music Recorded live at Barton Coliseum, Little Rock, Arkansas on April 9, 1978; Municipal Auditorium, Columbus, Georgia on April 11, 1978; Fox Theatre, Atlanta, Georgia on April 13, 1978; New Castle City Hall, New Castle, England on June 1, 1978. Blue Oyster Cult's second live album (which was also the group's second platinum effort) was recorded during the 250-date tour for SPECTRES. Always one of the better '70s live draws, Blue Oyster Cult used SOME ENCHANTED EVENING to showcase some of the group's heartiest epics alongside some of its more well-known selections. Among the stellar songs included are the southern rock-flavored "R.U. Ready 2 Rock" and the mystical "Astronomy," a song that's wrapped in blankets of Allen Lanier's swirling synths. A crunching version of the hit "(Don't Fear) the Reaper" is only surpassed by the thunderous "Godzilla," a monster epic that is this band's "Smoke on the Water." An interesting pair of covers, "Kick Out the Jams" and "We Gotta Get Out of This Place," found the members of Blue Oyster Cult not only tipping their hats to the rebellious side of the British Invasion, but paying homage to the spirit of anarchy represented by the MC5. This Legacy edition expands the original audio release to the 73 minute double-album length it was once planned to be and also includes a second disc, Some Other Enchanted Evening, a semi-bootleg DVD of concert footage shot on the same 1978 tour. Producers: Murray Krugman, Blue Oyster Cult, Sandy Pearlman. Blue Oyster Cult: Eric Bloom (vocals, guitar); Donald "Buck Dharma" Roeser (guitar); Allen Lanier (keyboards); Joseph Bouchard (bass); Albert Bouchard (drums). Additional personnel: Tony Cedrone, Rickey Reyer (percussion).

Two for the Show songs Since returning from an extended hiatus that began in the late 1990s, Rush have become quite the concert tour documentarians. Previously, the band spaced out their live offerings, making each significantly era-defining. SNAKES & ARROWS LIVE marks a new trend with the Canadian progressive rockers, who have now released three multi-disc live sets in just five years. Also worth notable mention is the trio's most recent full-length (2007's SNAKES & ARROWS), getting the lion's share of focus and comprising a full third of the set list. Clearly this is a testament to the group's confidence in and enthusiasm for their newest material. As for the other tracks included, Rush dusts off "Circumstances" (from 1978's HEMISPHERES), while curiously excluding any songs from POWER WINDOWS (1985) or PRESTO (1989) on this outing. Principally staying faithful to original arrangements, the band presents flawless performances, much to the delight of the Dutch crowd in attendance for the two shows represented on LIVE. Forty years after their inception, Rush show no sign of slowing down or resting on their laurels.
