| | Don Carroll Blues Organ CD Don Carroll Discography of CDs
The year was 1952. I met the greatest friend I ever had, and from that moment on we became brothers. We are brothers in life and brothers in music. In 1958 our musical journey began on the north side of Houston playing rock & roll and rhythm & blues. The north side of Houston has produced many great and famous players, but in my opinion, none as talented or as diversified as Don Carroll. Here we are in the year 2008 and we are still playing our music together, and Don Carroll still amazes me with his talent and the energy he puts into his music. When you listen to this CD you will discover one of the most versatile, talented and under rated musicians of our time. Don has the talent and ability to be spotlighted 'center stage' and be the star, but he's just as comfortable being one of the 'guys in the band'. We were two young boys who decided to make music our lives and after fifty years together music is still our lives. Don and I wrote every song on this CD and after you listen to it you will understand why I praise and admire Don's musical talent. Ladies and gentlemen I proudly introduce to you Don Carroll. Epic's THE ESSENTIAL STEVIE RAY VAUGHAN AND DOUBLE TROUBLE gathers two discs' worth of the late blues guitarist's work, including many live performances and a few tracks with the Vaughan Brothers. The collection presents Vaughan's material in roughly chronological order, from the 1980 live recording "Shake for Me" to 1989's "Life by the Drop." It also touches on most of Vaughan's definitive songs and performances, including "Tightrope," "Wall of Denial," "Couldn't Stand the Weather," and "Cold Shot," and live versions of "The Sky Is Crying," "Superstition," and "Rude Mood/Hide Away." Though this album doesn't offer anything that hasn't already ...

$5.99 BRIAN KEITH BURTONELLIAka SMOKEYBurtonelli was born in St. Louis, Missouri and began singing in church at a very early age. Multi-talented, he started playing the drums at age 9 but after a year or two of driving his family crazy, they all gladly chipped in to buy him his first guitar. By the time he finished high school he had acquired the skill of several instruments including piano and bass. (He is completely self -taught.) After graduating, Burtonelli went straight on the road gathering and perfecting his performance skills. Ever growing, his attention soon grew to composing and arranging. That's when he decided to move to Los Angeles to further his career. Over the next several years, after working every job available he was soon able to break into the scene as a studio and live sessionist. Touring with some of America's top artist soon landed him his first international gig. While performing in Nagoya, Japan with The Adrina Steel Motown Revue he soon became known as "Smokey" because of his smooth renditions of Smokey Robinson songs. Since then he has toured many cities and countries entertaining people of all cultures and races. Working the "Hard Rock Café" circuit in Asia brought Smokey to Malaysia where in Kuala Lumpur the music industry, although growing, was in need of something new and daring to boost the local market and to create a stir on the scene. And that's just what Smokey did! After performing in K.L. for two months with his group "Chill Factor" he was approached by BMG Records to compose and produce an album for one of their top recording artist "4U2C". This album would be one of the first of its kind in Malaysia. Mixing Bahasa Malayu chants and melodies with R&B/ Funk. Smokey was so impressed with the fusion that he decided to take it a step further. At that time he formed his own production company in K.L. "Common Culture Sdn.Bhd" and spent the next two years traveling all of Asia absorbing every sound he could into his bloodstream. Upon returning to Kuala Lumpur Smokey was once again approached by a record company. ...
