This DVD includes the sci-fi film plus bonus features: commentary with executive producer/writer Brad Wright and director Martin Wood, The Making of Stargate Continuum, Stargate Goes to The Arctic, and Layman's Guide to Time Travel. This second feature-length film based in the STARGATE SG-1 universe, a follow-up to STARGATE: THE ARK THE TRUTH, finds the SG-1 crew attending the execution of the nefarious Ba'al, the supposed final System Lord of the galaxies-spanning dominant alien race Goa'uld. When Teal'c and Vala suddenly evaporate into thin air, however, the rest of the crew heads back to Earth as quickly as possible in hopes to get to the bottom of their bizarre disappearances. What they find is worse than they could have ever imagined. A world in which the Stargate was never discovered awaits them, thus negating much of their own history and personal pasts. Before they can convince the military that not only did this time-tampering occur, but that it is the handiwork of Ba'al, hundreds of Go'uld ships line Earth's orbit. It's up to Maj. Gen. Jack O'Neill (MACGYVER's Richard Dean Anderson) and the rest of crew to set things right before Ba'al conquers the world in this thrilling time-travel adventure featuring a cadre of beloved characters. Stargate: Continuum Reviews: 3 stars out of 5 -- "[A]s the conclusion to the show it's quite satisfying, tying up the loose ends and offering a welcome last hurrah for Richard Dean Anderson....CONTINUUM is a solid send-off."-- James Dyer, Empire Stargate: Continuum | List Price | $14.98 (You save $4.73) | | Studio | 20th Century Fox | | Orig Year | 2008 | | DVD Encoding | Region 1 | | All Time Sales Rank | 3103 | | CD Universe Part number | 7668569 | | Catalog number | 2252846 | | Discs | 1 | | Release Date | Jul 29, 2008 | | Rating | Not Rated | | Running Time | 99 Minutes | | Additional Info | Widescreen; Dubbed; Subtitled | | Movie Details | Color; Dolby Surround Sound; Widescreen; Dubbed; Subtitled |
Stargate: Continuum Video Stargate: Continuum Movie Review Average Rating: (4 out of 5 stars) Time travel gon wrong I seen the orginal Motion Picture when first came out, which this long run TV series was based, I did not see any of the TV SHOWs. I GOT TO SEE THE BEST OF THE SERIES IN TO ONE WONDERFUL MOVIE. its A TRIP! Submitted by bean_bond (toronto, Ontario, Canada) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No 1 of 1 found this helpful.
Worth The Wait If Stargate SG-1 is to continue THIS IS THE WAY. This movie kept me involved in the plot from begining to end. The special effects were outstanding and the GREAT story line was not done this way on TV.I hope the series will continue in this DVD movie release format for many years to come. spoilers included. read at your own risk I have been counting down the days until this dvd was released and actually used money that I didn't have to buy this movie. I had high hopes for this movie. After Ark of Truth, I expected more. I expected a longer movie with fewer plot holes and a bigger performance by Richard Dean Anderson, Claudia Black AND Christopher Judge.
There are so many people that are so excited that there's a Stargate "movie" that they're failing to notice all the flaws. The pacing of this movie is ridiculous. I do think it was nice to see the "one year later" shots with the team acclimating themselves into a civilian life without each other but they didn't balance the shots. We got to see what kind of cereal Carter likes, the names of the people that lived in Mitchell's house, and a freaky picture of this universe's Jackson. but when it came right down to, you know, the actual plot, it was RUSHED! It's like they forgot they actually had a story to tell and went out into the garage to get tape to fix it. Why is the antartic base only mentioned in passing? Why are none of the allies used as a viable means of getting out of their predicament? Why is Cameron our only hope for putting things right?
I love Ben Browder. He has my undying support simply because of Farscape. I started to love him on stargate as well but I cannot justify the producer's reasoning for having his grandfather be captain of the ship, and having he be the only person who makes it through the gate at just the right moment. And then, there's nothing to show that their even aware that this timeline had been altered except a picture that absolutely noone remarks on the amazing coincidence that there is an identical man to cameron's grandfather in the picture. Why was there no action in this movie? a couple of migs shoot the alien spacecraft out of the sky. Which if Baal was really relying on the earth's inability to fight back and thus accept him as their god, wouldn't he have known that they would have weapons capable of destroying the gliders? more to the point, how are the migs able to destroy the gliders so easily?
What the producers need to realize for the 3rd movie is that these are movies that they are spitting out. not episodes. If this was a 2-part episode it would be rated as a bad episode but people would simple not watch it when they bought the season on dvd. But if you want to continue putting out dvds, don't leave ha'tak sized plot holes in your scripts and final execution of your story. Submitted by Aeryn Sun (Madison, Fl) Was This Review Helpful?
