Growing up I had a very distinct childhood musically. No one I knew played an instrument and no one I knew was in a band but my parents always had music on. I remember listening to Prince, Micheal Jackson, The Cars, John Fogerty, John Anderson, Randy Travis and on and on. My mom always loved Motown records so from her I got a steady dose of Temptations, Smokey Robinson, Four Tops, Supremes, Jackson Five, Marvin Gaye and so on. Then my dad would play his records which included Eric Clapton, John Fogerty, Dr. Hook, Black Sabbath, Aerosmith, and all the great rock of the sixties and seventies. Looking Back I was blessed to have two parents with such diverse musical tastes and Grandparents who listened to The Opry and Gospel. The Most Important time period that shaped what is now a fledgling career would be High School in the ninties. Modern Country with Garth Brooks, Travis Tritt, Brooks and Dunn. Then Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Alice in Chains, STP, RHCP.I bought my first guitar when I was 17 and annoyed the hell out of my parents for a couple of years. I would learn main parts of songs and that was it. It wasn't untill I met a Friend in College that I started to become serious about music. He was deep into blues and taught me a lot about feeling and guitar. My Journey took me where i again put music on the back burner untill a year ago when a devastating loss inspired me to start writing my own songs plugging away night after night learning not only different instruments but how to record and arrange songs. So now I am putting forth emotions I have buried for a long time and sharing them with whoever wants to listen! The Debut CD consists of styles ranging from rockabilly, country, blues and Southern Rock to Emo and everything between. The Goal was to make a Cd I was proud of and my influences are all over this CD! I Hope You Enjoy it as much as I Have! Who Gave You songs
$11.39 Authenticity is an elusive quality; hard to define, but when it comes to music, you know it when you hear it. Authentic is the only way to describe Jonah Howard's debut album, Wheels On My Heart. While others try to emulate the heroes of a bygone era with retro stylings or force 90's pop into a country format, Jonah effortlessly filters country music's rich traditions through his own formidable songwriting talents, making Wheels On My Heart a classic for any fan of the genre.Kicking off the album with a killer baritone guitar lick, "Love Don't Run Too Deep" is a sawdust soliloquy from a country boy burned by love in ...
