"By reputation, I'm a metal-diva, but not at all by definition. I'm a pop-rock singer-songwriter who grew up with a folk musician father and a hippie rock-jazz mother and have made a name for myself in the European metal scene. I've had a pretty eclectic range of influences and that definitely comes out in the music I make. If names are what you're after, then perhaps a bit like Fiona Apple, Rachael Yamagata, Jewel, Chantal Kreviazuk, Dido, Jem, Cat Power, Sheryl Crow, Sarah McLachlan, Evanescence, Moloko, Annie Lennox, Kelly Clarkson & Sade thrown into the blender and whipped into a strange, frothy and eclectic concoction that goes down easy. I'm not trying to reinvent the wheel, but I’ve sanded and stained it, carved scrollwork into it and added glitter here and there. Voilà !OK, now on to the more serious, official stuff. Enjoy!xxAmanda"Singer-songwriter with a razorblade edge.In a business where image often overshadows substance, Amanda Somerville gives the industry CPR with a breath of sincerity through music that is so real, it's goosebump-inducing. $11.18 The goal of Leona Lewis' 2007 debut, Spirit, was to prove that an X Factor winner could be a phenomenon not just in the U.K., but in the rest of the world. The goal of her second album, 2009's Echo, is to prove that success was no fluke, to build upon "Bleeding Love" and turn Lewis into an actual diva. Certainly, Echo in any of its incarnations -- its song listings are tailored for individual markets, with the U.K. getting a cover of Oasis' "Stop Crying Your Heart Out," while the U.S. gets a second song co-written by Justin Timberlake ...
