| | Christmas With The Chipmunks, Vol. 2 CD (1987)
Hot! Hot! Hot! Dance Songs album
$6.79 This disc contains another dozen seasonal sides from the novelty singing group, the Chipmunks. Like its predecessor, Christmas With the Chipmunks, Vol. 2 (1963) has become a year-end institution. This is thanks in part to the initial success of multimedia mastermind Ross Bagdasarian's hit 45" "Chipmunk Christmas Song," which spent four weeks atop the singles chart. The Chipmunks actually debuted on Bagdasarian's first number one, "Witch Doctor". The sped-up voices of Alvin, Simon and Theodore were all performed by Bagdasarian with character names inspired by Liberty Records bosses: Al Bennett (Alvin), Si Waronker (Simon), ...

Hot! Hot! Hot! Dance Songs music CDs
$13.15 Bruce Menefield“...Groove is in his heart and horn” Kathy Y. Wilson Cincinnati City BeatSaxophonist Bruce Menefield is an outstandingly creative musician. He has developed a unique style by playing a variety of musical genres: jazz, gospel, blues, R&B and world music. Menefield has performed professionally for 35 years where his sweet sound has been heard in top venues, churches and concert halls. He has performed with and among, some of the best in jazz such as Billy Harper, Clark Terry, Bennie Maupin, Ronnie Laws and John Blake. Bruce is best known for his big bluesy sound, but he has morphed into a highly spirited improviser able to create new music on the spot and in the height of the moment.Menefield is also a leader and a producer. His career is marked by his ability to mix talented musicians into exciting ensembles. Again, variety is his benchmark-his musical sound being a hybrid of jazz, fusion and swing. The groups that he has developed are known to keep a “hard groove” and to deliver a musical strong message ...
| | Marco Mahler Design In Quick Rotation CD (2007)
Hot! Hot! Hot! Dance Songs songs
$12.15 As the landscape of music is carved throughout time, the work born solely to contribute to that progression is something to be appreciated. With lyrical aspirations of Dylan and a healthy admiration for the innovative guitar work of Bert Jansch, the contribution from acoustic singer/songwriter Marco Mahler is immense. Born of Swiss heritage and living as a dual citizen in the United States and Switzerland, his international travels have given him a wide appreciation for music, ranging from traditional Irish folk to mainstream Hip Hop. This range shows through in the debut album, Design in Quick Rotation, which has been described as “music that captures the dawn of Sunday morning and embodies it through verse and song.” Under each gentle melody, Mahler's whispery vocals seem to be offering access to a profound secret, creating a rare intimacy between artist and listener. Design in Quick Rotation breathes perspective, as Mahler crafted much of the album while working to revitalize a log cabin nestled in the Appalachian foothills. During this period in the scenic mountains, Mahler, for the first time, took on the roles of father and husband, and the album is charmed with that same sense of newness. The final inspiration for the record’s completion, however, came when Mahler parted with the mountains of Virginia for the livelier pastures of Brooklyn. This contrast in location can be felt as a subtle undertone throughout the album. His creative release was fueled by nature, but the time in New York, a microcosm of art and culture, gave Mahler a strong desire ...
