| | Bill Schaeffer Music For Daydreams CD Bill Schaeffer Discography of CDs
This CD is the light hearted companion piece to "Music for Nightmares." Intended for late afternoon reflection and reverie, the music is whimsical and fun. Put it on your stereo, or headphones, and relax. Enjoy the music. Let your mind wander for a while and don't think. Take a deep breath. Exhale slowly. Watch life just drifting by. Get some snack food, and take a drink. Sit down and relax. Take another deep breath. Close your eyes. Exhale slowly and open your eyes. Watch the sun set slowly in the distance. Listen to the birds chirp and the breeze rustle the trees. There now, don't you feel better? Post modernist wall paper music for the busy computer professional and also the ordinary overworked layman. Experimental little etudes designed to distract and amuse. Music For Daydreams music CDs
$12.99 Craig Pruess is one of the few session musicians, singers, conductors or composers active in the UK music scene who has mastered and synthesized three great musical traditions of the world: Western classical and contemporary, Indian classical, and African drumming. His credits are extensive and impressive: two UK number one film scores for “Bend It Like Beckham” and “Bride & Prejudice”, plus art films, “The Mistress of Spices”, “What’s Cooking?” and “Bhaji on the Beach”. He has scored some of the most successful independent TV drama series in UK history (“Peak Practice” for ITV), and arranged and conducted orchestras for Massive Attack, Def Leppard, Bond and Sir Cliff Richard. The latter garnered him gold and platinum records for production honors, with many chart hits, including composing the number one UK chart hit single at the Millennium, “Two Worlds” (the double A side to Sir Cliff Richard’s “The “Millennium Prayer” - a million seller). As a session musician and Indian music consultant, Craig played sitar on the Manic Street Preacher’s number one UK album “This Is My Truth Tell Me Yours” (on the track “Tsunami”). Craig has created the Indian music colors (playing sitar, tambura, swaramandala - zither) for the Johnny Depp film “Charlie ...

| | Michael Holt The Dawn Chorus CD (2009)
Music For Daydreams album
$18.25 The full title of this album is The Dawn Chorus by Michael Holt and The Kids. The Kids are the band I formed with Ron Sexmith's drummer and bassist Don Kerr and Peter Murray, and guitarist David Celia, just after I moved to Toronto. Twenty-two other great musicians join this core group to make an album of which I'm truly proud. Here's a little biography for me . . .After his first band regularly packed New York's legendary CBGB in the mid 80’s, Holt began releasing solo albums with friends from The Lounge Lizards, They Might Be Giants, Lisa Loeb and others. In 1992 he moved to San Francisco to join The Mommyheads, who toured extensively, achieving cult status throughout North America and releasing several albums, including one on Geffen produced by Don Was. In 1999 Holt moved to Toronto, collaborating with such artists as Ron Sexsmith, releasing more solo albums, and doing a split CD with indie buzz-band Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin. He has also toured Europe with Toronto songwriter David Celia and with SF based improv group Mushroom.PRAISE FOR MICHAEL HOLT“Michael’s Scriabin-influenced piano playing is so exciting, I can’t get enough of it.” Owen Pallett (Final Fantasy/Arcade Fire)"Mike Holt is a genius. He knows it, I know it and so should everyone. Get his music."David Celia, Toronto songwriter"Michael Holt writes an all-too-rare kind of music, in which sophistication is in the service of emotion. His personal, powerful songs are really smart, but you realize that only after you first experience them as intimate, direct, and deeply meaningful.”David Garland, WNYC, America's most-listened-to public radio station"Michael, you are the best...you are one of my few heroes on the planet. You had a huge influence on me! I hope you know that."John Vanderslice"Michael Holt is a diamond among too many rhinestones. He brings empathy, ingenuity and raw dignity to his lexicon of heartfelt songs."Bob Wiseman, Toronto ...
