Brett Williams was discovered playing guitar at the age of five in his father's closet while his father was at work. Shortly after that, everyone started to notice his ability to pick up a guitar and play along with what ever was on the radio, without the use of an inflated guitar teacher. The irony erupting from all that radio time is that his influences can be counted on one small hand. Such guitar greats as Phil Keaggy, BB King and any of the great Spanish classical guitarists are some of the keys to where he gets his sound. Brett's chord selection, harmonics, and his taste for alternate tunings are all characteristics of his style, which is clearly seen throughout the musical spectrum of Rain. Brett's time and talent is devoted to getting the ultimate sound from his strings, as well as sharing what he has learned throughout his lifetime, whether it be his adventures from traveling around the world, or more simply, how easy life can be having childlike eyes. Brett enjoys playing classical guitar inside large cathedrals, and hopes to build one of his own someday. Brett Williams Rain Songs | 1. | China |

| | Barbra Streisand Love Is The Answer CD (2009) Bonus Track
Rain music CDs
$11.45 Even before their first session together, Barbra Streisand and collaborator Diana Krall designed LOVE IS THE ANSWER as a deeply emotional record: "each song an exploration concerning matters of the heart." And with the arrangements of maestro Johnny Mandel simply drawing occasional shading around Streisand's expressive voice--often leaving that voice as the only instrument--the album goes well beyond the usual saloon-song tropes to become a heart-wrenching experience on virtually every track. Additionally, although much was made of the two divas' collaboration, Krall's piano stays in the background, and Streisand's is the only voice heard here. Nearly every song is a classic of tender balladry, despite the fact that none had been put on album by Streisand before during her long career. Those facts alone should leave Streisand fans in ecstasy, as practically nothing stands in the way as she sings some of the best songs of the last century, aching and sincere with every melancholy or lovelorn ballad, tenderly strident with every (ultimately) uplifting anthem. "Spring Can Really Hang You Up the Most" opens up like a flower akin to ...

Rain CD music
$10.85 Powerhouse vocalist Josh Groban may not be all things to all people, but he's certainly many things to many people. An international sensation, Groban is a Broadway-ready belter, romantic crooner, and classical/pop crossover phenomenon. Groban largely shies away from the more operatic side of his musical personality on CLOSER, leaning more towards a lush, cosmopolitan style that finds him singing in Italian, French, Spanish, and English with equal aplomb.
While the album is speckled with adult-contemporary pop production touches courtesy of Groban's mentor David Foster, much of the record sports a cinematic, grandly orchestrated feel. And on the closing track "Never Let Go," his collaboration with ambient popsters Deep Forest, Groban even bucks for inclusion on a future volume of the PURE MOODS series, showing that he's always got another stylistic surprise up his sleeve.
Recorded at Chartmaker Studios, Malibu, California.

| | This Is A Trophy Life CD (2008)
Rain music CDs
$15.19 A TROPHY LIFE came from modest beginnings, and in the fall of 2006 four voices came together to quit their lives and create the means to a dream that was A TROPHY LIFE: a symphony of melody and misery, happiness and disaster, rock and roll. This marks the true beginning to the momentum that has kept these boys in full swing for the last 18 months. A TROPHY LIFE moved towards a pop-punk sound, getting closer to their original influences New Found Glory and Motion City Soundtrack, and set out on the road with a new full-length album titled “THIS IS A TROPHY LIFE”. The Spinal Tap reference was widely missed. Battling through ...

| | Alberta Adams Detroit Is My Home CD (2008)
Rain album
$16.45 Alberta has long been the undisputed queen of the blues here in Detroit. She started as a dancer in the late 1940's and has been doing it ever since. Along the way she toured with T-Bone Walker, Louis Jordan, Cleanhead Vinson and even played the Apollo Theater with Dizzy Gillespie. It is amazing that a woman born in 1917 is still out there doing it and doing with power. She continues to represent the real old school and still touring. Alberta has just completed her third CD for the Eastlawn label, called "Detroit Is My Home." On it she sings with three different and amazing pianists: Mark Braun, aka Mr. B, Al Hill (from the Bettye LeVette Band) and Ann Rabson, from Virginia. Ann is a member of Saffire, a great all female blues band that tours internationally. All three are fine pianists that offer different takes on the blues. Mark being the boogie-woogie expert, Ann coming from an old-timey music background and Al, whom has toured with Alberta, being a little funkier than the others. All three are great Alberta Adams fans. On the new CD Alberta sings boogie-woogie, slow blues, ballads, New Orleans ...

Rain music CDs
$15.39 The problem with George Orwell's 1984 is that too many people want to stick their own oar into it. When David Bowie mooted transforming the novel into a musical in 1974, Orwell's widow Sonia Orwell famously asked, "Why would anyone want to set that to music?" -- and Bowie ultimately agreed with her, rewiring his initial concept as the Diamond Dogs album, and emerging all the stronger for it.
Since then, other artists have been less sensitive. Rick Wakeman and the Eurythmics both famously made pig's breakfasts of the original concept, and one approaches Anthony Phillips' stab at the tale with understandable trepidation -- an emotion that only renders the overall experience all the more thrilling. ...
