Purchase X 1,000,000 CD To buy, Click on price to add to cart | R Kelly Untitled CD (2009)
X 1,000,000 album
$11.18 After his aborted, internet-leaked 2008 album, 12 PLAY: 4TH QUARTER, R. Kelly busied himself with guest spots for Beyonce, T-Pain, and Kanye West, even offering a free download on iTunes, "I Believe," inspired by the election of president Barack Obama. While such moves insured that Kelly would never stray far from the R&B throne he's occupied for more than a decade, his ...

| | Pink Funhouse CD (2008) Explicit
X 1,000,000 music CDs
$8.99 Pink's insistently hooky, attitude-filled pop-rock has kept the singer a fixture on the radio and on singles charts since the early 2000s. The artist's fifth effort, FUNHOUSE, doesn't tamper with the formula: Pink's powerhouse vocals and in-your-face approach, backed by stadium-sized production, are in full effect on all 12 tracks. Even though the album deals ...

| | Joss Stone Colour Me Free! CD (2009) Import
X 1,000,000 CD music
$30.38 The "free" in the title to Joss Stone's fourth album apparently refers to the neo-singer breaking free from the shackles of her major label, EMI, who apparently have not let Joss be Joss. That this constricting argument happens to be the exact same story line Stone used for 2007's Introducing Joss Stone, the splashy diva power trip meant to unveil the "real" singer, is conveniently forgotten, as is the modern R&B of that makeover, with Joss returning to all the retro-soul of her first two records. The one lingering element of Introducing is a propensity for melisma-laden oversinging, a tic that stands out in the warmer, funkier settings of Colour Me Free! Still, her raw vocal skills remain impressive, as does her taste in ...

| | Lady Ann Bad Gyal Inna Dance CD (2008)
X 1,000,000 CD music
$9.85 Barbara Smith, better known as Lady Ann, was the second child of Verona Dacres, and was born in Jubilee, and raised in Western Kingston (also known as Kingston 13). Lady Ann’s first music experiences included listening to, and sneaking into, local roots reggae dancehall sessions circa 1975-1977, featuring sound systems like Black Harmony and Soulatonie.Lady Ann’s closest musical cohorts in these early days were Little John and Ranking Toyan. Little John is credited to be the first artist to pass the mic to Lady Ann, circa 1978, during a dancehall session held by the original Kilimanjaro sound system. Other artists which Lady Ann grew up with and was influenced by in these early days include Clint Eastwood, Ranking Dillinger, Trinity, Ranking Joe, Louie Lepkie, Michigan & Smiley, Barry Brown, and Sugar Minott. Lady Ann and these artists would work out on sounds including Stereophonic, Metromedia, Gemini Disco, Lee’s Unlimited, and Romantic HiFi, as well as Kilimanjaro.Lady Ann began her professional music career in 1978, recording her first songs, Plan Your Family (a combination with Ranking Toyan), as well as Shine Eye Boy, for Don Mais’ Roots Tradition Label. In 1980, Leon Synmoie invited her to record several songs for the Thrill Seekers label, which ended up as part of her debut album, Vanity (released on the Alvin Ranglin’s GG’s label, which also included the hit single Sataap). Then, in 1981, Lady Ann then teamed with producer Blackbeard to record the song Husband & Wife on the Mr. Tipsy Label. Between 1981-1982, Lady Ann enjoyed her biggest commercial success up to that date with her song Informer, produced by the legendary Joe Gibbs (as well as an LP by the same name). This song stormed up the local charts, with the song Informer going to #1 single, and the Informer LP going to #1 album in Jamaica. This was history in the making, as Lady Ann was the first female DJ to have a #1 single, as well as the first to have a #1 album. The success of Informer helped to swing her career into high gear, and its popularity ...

$15.99 I was born in 1980 and have been singing since I started school, so I would have been around 4 or 5 years old when the music first "took hold". The guitar playing came a little bit later. I can recall playing my first chords at the age of 9, again in school, but not really taking it up until about the age of 11, which coincided with the grunge era, a musical genre I was particularly drawn to at the time. I’ve been writing songs (or should I say ’trying to’) since I was 16 and from the age of 17 until recently (May 2007) I was playing and co-writing in a band called ’Java Shrine’.During those ten years Java Shrine traveled extensively, covering both the east and west coasts of America, while more recently touring across continental Europe covering such countries as: Germany, Denmark, Sweden and Finland, not to mention playing extensively throughout Ireland North and South. These European tours helped us to promote and distribute our debut album, which is called ‘Nothing To Declare’.In late 2006 as a co-writer in the band I began writing new material in the hope that some of it would be included on a second Java Shrine album, but unfortunately by Jan 2007 it was mutually agreed that the band would not be returning to the studio. Since then we have musically parted ways concentrating on individual projects. Thankfully we are all still friends. Our last public performance as a full band saw us performing at the Blues on the Bay festival in late May which was a fantastic gig and a nice way to close the curtain on that ere of the band.Regardless of this I was still eager to return to the studio. This was made possible thanks to an Arts grant awarded to me by the Arts Council Of Northern Ireland. I continued to write throughout 07 and returned to the studio in September of the same year. In total about 17 tracks were written, 12 were demo recorded and 11 selected to be included on the final album. Thankfully ...
