In this 1997 film, a group of high school students accidentally hit a stranger with their car and bury the body, but their dark secret comes back to haunt them. Bonuses: commentary, short film, featurette, music video. After a post-graduation Fourth of July beer blast, four tipsy teens accidentally smash up a pedestrian with their car, and, in a panic, dispose of the almost-dead body in the ocean. Sure enough, the following summer, the reunited group is stalked by a mysterious figure clad in fisherman's garb--replete with fish hook. A putative echo of screenwriter Kevin Williamson's mega-hit "Scream," substituting that movie's inside-jokiness for genuine feelings of guilt and angst. I Know What You Did Last Summer Video I Know What You Did Last Summer Movie Review Yikes! As a fan of Sarah Michelle Gellar and Ryan Phillipe I have to say they deserved better than this. The storyline was so paltry that the director had to rely on the killer to tease his victims before he actually got around to killing them. Four teenagers hit someone on the road and then hide the body in the water. Almost immediately the movie kills off one susect. Then other people are killed off who had nothing to do with the "hit and hide." In the end when the killer is revealed the viewer realizes that he/she was not even given a clue as to the identity. Ann Heche as the bereaved, backwoods sister was the best part of the film. Submitted by tintin84105 (Woods Cross, UT, USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No This review is for a different format.
A typical teenage 90s horror flick This is an average horror flick with a typical teenage 90s horror movie feel to it. It's about a guy wanting to kill and get revenge on the teens that ran him down with there car a year before he starts making there lives hell. It is often debated that this is a cheap second rate version of Scream. I don't think that this is the case. I do believe that Scream is an all round better film, but I Know What You Did Last Summer has its fair shares of scares and mystery. Jennifer Love Hewit did a great job with her role as the main character and she really added alot to the movie. The best scene in this movie is the chase scene which involved Sarah Michelle Gellar. She is also a very talented actress that added alot to the movie. The movie is a sort of a rollercoaster movie, due to the fact that you don't know what's going to happen next and you're anxious to find out who the killer is. The plot to this movie was very intelligent and kept the audience thinking. Great storyline and great actors, however a typical teenage horror flick which shows teens being tortured and killed by a hook wielding maniac. This is for the modern horror movie fan and it's definately a movie which would appeal to teens more than adults. Submitted by Joey 34 (Sydney, aUSTRALIA) Was This Review Helpful?
