With The Fall, Norah Jones completes the transition away from her smooth cabaret beginnings and toward a mellowly arty, modern singer/songwriter. Jones began this shift on 2007's Not Too Late, an album that gently rejected her tendencies for lulling, tasteful crooning, but The Fall is a stronger, more cohesive work, maintaining an elegantly dreamy state that's faithful to the crooner of Come Away with Me while feeling decidedly less classicist. Some of this could be attributed to Jones' choice of producer, Jacquire King, best-known for his work with Modest Mouse and Kings of Leon, but King hardly pushes Norah in a rock direction; The Fall does bear some mild echoes of Fiona Apple or Aimee Mann in ballad mode, but its arrangements never call attention to themselves, the way that some Jon O'Brien productions do. Instead, the focus is always on Jones' voice and songs, which are once again all originals, sometimes composed in conjunction with collaborators including her longtime colleagues Jesse Harris, Ryan Adams, and Will Sheff ...

ELLA FITZGERALD WISHES YOU A SWINGING CHRISTMAS is a charming, warmly humorous--and yes, swinging--set of classic Christmas tunes. The program is familiar, from bouncy singalongs like "Jingle Bells" to slinky ballads like a downright sexy "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas," but Fitzgerald treats each song with exactly as much respect as it deserves. And so Frank Loesser's "What Are You Doing New Year's Eve" is wistfully romantic and Sammy Cahn and Jule Styne's "Let It Snow" is kittenishly enticing. Jason Lee Thomason was born into a home filled with music all the time. His mother played piano and sang, his father sang with her and his sister was always practicing piano and singing for church. Jason was bound to fall in the same line. At the young age of three his mother said he was hearing harmony parts and singing on key. Jason took interest in playing instruments early on. During his childhood he took both guitar and piano lessons. He had a bit of stage fright but his chorus teacher in his sophomore year saw his potential and gave him the big solo in the Christmas Cantata. He started singing and playing guitar in church and conducted song services for many conferences and events for about 10 years. It wasn\'t long before he was out of the church scene and into the rock band scene. He and his band were writing and performing originals and doing covers at all the local bars and festivals for a couple of years. Jason has a wife and three young boys, so the bar life just wasn\'t panning out. Jason knew there was a better way to express himself musically and keep his family intact. In 2007 his wife Leonda entered him in the local South Georgia Colgate Country Showdown. The spark from winning that lit a huge fire inside fueling his passion for performing LIVE once again. He picked up band members (and long time friends) Tory Harris on keys and Chuck Burnett on drums and won the local North Florida Showdown as well. He is currently scanning the area for more gigs to keep the fire burning. Jason is a registered songwriter with BMI and his publishing company, Jason Lee Thomason Music, is through BMI as well. Jason’s songs, “Let Go”, \"Rose Colored Glasses\", \"Call It A Day\" and “Southland” have obtained lots of airtime on local radio stations WQHL 98.1 (Live Oak, FL), WAAC 92.9 (Valdosta, GA), WAAO 103.7 (Andalusia, AL), WQLC 102.1 (Lake City, FL) and WKAA 99.5 (Valdosta, GA).
