$8.19 (MP3 Available for Download) The Spinners were rivaled only by the O'Jays as the greatest Philly soul group, and for that matter the greatest vocal group of the '70s. For listeners who don't want to dig as deeply as the excellent double-CD anthology One of a Kind Love Affair, Rhino's The Very Best of the Spinners is a stellar single-disc career summary that offers a concentrated dose of the group's sweet soul magic. It also serves as a primer on the best work of Thom Bell, ...

$18.65 (MP3 Available for Download) LIFE AFTER DEATH was nominated for a 1998 Grammy Award for Best Rap Album. "Hypnotize" was nominated for a 1988 Grammy Award for Best Rap Solo Performance. "Mo Money Mo Problems" was nominated for a 1998 Grammy Award for Best Rap Performance By A Duo Or Group.
The double-CD LIFE AFTER DEATH arrives in stores, ironically and tragically, less than three weeks after the Notorious B.I.G. was killed in a drive-by shooting in Los Angeles. Biggie Smalls, as he was known, quickly became one of rap's most respected MCs after the 1994 release of his debut album, READY TO DIE. His music sparked the comeback of East Coast hip-hop, while his very being added fire to rap's over-publicized East-West rivalry. For some (see "Playa Hater"), Biggie's success was too much to handle, and he became a primary target in hip-hop's continuing feud. Never feeding into that war on wax, B.I.G. chose to remain silent, until ...

Purpose- Analyze This CD music
$17.59 d'Syre shares his visions and feelings in a neoSoul project that's phat and funky. Don't be mistaken: this thing is on the one. However, every song has a twist; there is something about every one. But being on the one means this whole project is about a gut feeling. The title indicates: some things are done purely and solely from the desire to do those things. It's the satisfaction of the desire that generates pleasure and energy, not the result of the actions. Produced by the Phat Groove Unit, the album has a very p-funk, on-the-one feel. Featured musicians on this album are: Drums on 'Come on over, come on in', 'Soul nature' and 'Got u goin' for me' by Chris van de VijfeijkeAcoustic guitar on 'All 'n all' and 'M.U.S.E. by Bob DegenerAlto sax solo on 'All 'n all' by Ingvar HendriksFretless bass on 'Soul nature' by Marcel van der ZwamBacking ...

Purpose- Analyze This CD music
$11.39 till ten tonightOld rockers never die; they just morph into singer/songwriters. And from start to finish, till ten tonight is all about the songs. till ten tonight was brought to life on 6.30.05 as a result of a live acoustic show by long time band mates with a guest lead guitarist. Before forming till ten tonight, after a long hiatus from playing shows and writing and recording songs, Steve and Eric had been in several bands together (Captain Hi-Top and Joker) and Lou had toured the world as a lead guitarist and sound engineer. After years of playing around the Northern Virginia scene in rock bands such as Oven Stuffer and Captain Hi-Top -- and then taking a number of years off -- Steve and Eric decided to reunite for “one night only” to play an acoustic show at small bar for old time’s sake. It was a chance to pass the evening with great friends and some great music.Enter the lead guitar player. Years earlier, fate one very late night led Steve to meet Lou who was listening to the Portuguese version Sting’s “Nothing Like The Sun.” This encounter led to a long discussion about music and jamming someday. Years later the stars aligned and since the afore mentioned show was the perfect opportunity to add some punch to their sound, they invited Lou to sit in on lead guitar on the Grateful Dead’s “Franklin’s Tower” and Soul Asylum’s “Runaway Train.” till ten tonight was born. The reunion show or farewell tour, depending on your point of view, went well enough to provide a spark to write and record some new music along with some older favorites that fit nicely with the lineup. A guitar trio and the greatest of friends from day one, they have expanded on their sound to include drum loops, mandolin, piano, cello, harmonica, bass, and percussion. Their sound has been dubbed “safe for the metal crowd” and they remain committed to “the power of three” in as much as they are determined to cover any and all parts between the three band members. As ...
