A fantastic album that really delivers a strong heavy sound with great melody. I was very surprised how much this album rocks. It actually caught me off guard from the first listen. The album gets better with every listen. The standout songs 'Whatever Happened', the title track, Rockstar, and White knuckle Ride sound very fresh and current. I hope they continue to release albums of this style. Remeber that old adage "This ain't your Grandfather's.... well this isn't the Night Ranger that you remember from the 80's. If you are in need of getting your rock fix and are not enjoying the junk of today pick this disc up from these vets who still know how to put out quality rock. Also, check out the new Scorpions disk 'Hummanity' to see how another band is getting it done today as well.

this is not your fathers nightranger yes the players are the same but it is clear to me that they are testing new waters here.almost no sounds of the great 80s band,like i said this cd is ok and if your a fan of n.r.you'll like it,just don't look for any classic on this one

Disappointing
Night Ranger was the first concert I ever saw and I've been a big fan of theirs, for more than 20 years. They're a great live band and I like most of what they've put out over the years, including the previous two albums (Neverland & Seven). I've really tried to get in to this new album, but I'm really having a hard time. Most of the songs on here are just OK; there's a few good ones and the 2 acoustic re-makes are good. Overall, though, I feel their best days are behind them. I hope they prove me wrong, if they record anymore new material. How anyone could give Hole In The Sun 5 stars is beyone me, but to each his own. I'd still go see them live (I saw them a couple of years ago and they rocked, although they really didn't play any new material). I like Jack Blades and his other projects (Damn Yankees, Shaw Blades) and Kelly's got a cool voice, but they need to work on coming up with stronger material. Perhaps I'll feel differently, with time and more listens. I just couldn't recommend this one to anyone, at this time. Everything up to, and including, Neverland is pretty solid, though.
